Sophie Cunningham turns heads with major career announcement
Sophie Cunningham is coming off a nice bounce-back performance for the Indiana Fever on Thursday night.
After being limited to just two points in 11 minutes during Indiana’s 106-92 blowout loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday, Cunningham turned in a more impactful performance against the Phoenix Mercury the following night.
The 6-foot-1 guard finished with nine points, two rebounds, two assists, a steal and one three-pointer in 29 minutes off the bench. Cunningham also knocked down two clutch free throws in the dying seconds of the game to seal the 92-89 victory for the Fever.

Cunningham announced some big career news on Friday. She took to social media to share a Sneaker News post about her first Player Exclusive (PE) shoe. The Fever guard has been an Adidas athlete for years now, but it is only now that she’s getting her own PE.
Cunningham’s PE for Adidas’ Crazy Energy shoe will drop on July 24. The pair comes in a gradient pink colorway with light blue and orange accents. It will reportedly retail for $120.

To be clear, Cunningham isn’t getting her signature shoe with Adidas — at least not yet. This is a PE, which is a limited edition pair made especially for her.
Not everyone on social media is pleased with the news, though. Some were quick to argue that she does not deserve her own PE, pointing out that she is nothing more than a role player for the Fever. Adidas clearly thinks otherwise, though.
