Bears star Joe Thuney has strong message ahead of new NFL season
Joe Thuney and the Chicago Bears enjoyed a lot of success in 2025. They won the NFC North with an 11-6 record and reached the Divisional Round. However, they are aiming for more in the upcoming season, with their sights set on surpassing their achievements. During his media availability, he sent a strong message to the rest of the competition.
The Bears traded for Thuney in Mach 2025 from the Kansas City Chiefs. He won two more Super Bowls with Patrick Mahomes and Co. after securing his first two with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
Thuney remains one of the best at his position, earning the NFL’s Protector of Year award last season. The 33-year-old appeared in all 17 regular-season games and participated in 100% of the offensive line’s snaps.
Joe Thuney says the Bears are hungry for more success
The four-time Pro Bowler stressed that he and his team are eager to achieve more. He also shared that they watched last year’s playoff games and made one thing clear: they are far from satisfied.
“It was special, so many videos after the game of close wins, seeing families hugging and crying together,” Thuney said. “Chicago is such an iconic franchise, and it’s great getting back into the playoffs, getting a win, and winning the NFC North. But there are still more things to achieve. Nobody in this building is satisfied or resting on that. There’s still a very strong, burning hunger to push for more and keep improving. There’s still lots left to do.”

Chicago will begin its regular season on Sept. 13 against the Carolina Panthers. Health will play a pivotal role in how far the team will reach. The front office addressed positional needs and added more depth to give the Bears the best chance to win it all. They will play their second preseason game on Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
