WNBA coach had a lot to say about Caitlin Clark, Fever
Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever remain one of, if not the most talked about team in the WNBA. Their star power has drawn a lot of attention to the team, with the Iowa product sharing the court with fellow All-Stars Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston. They have been receiving a lot of praise for their strong play this season, including from Toronto Tempo head coach Sandy Brondello.
Indiana and the Toronto will clash on Tuesday at Scotiabank Arena in an important game for both teams. The Tempo aiming to snap their 10-game skid, while the Fever have their eyes set on extending their four-game winning streak.
Brondello understands what’s at stake but also knows how tough Clark and Co. are. She also wants the franchise to make a lasting impression on fans, especially in a nationally-televised matchup.

Sandy Brondello shares thoughts on Caitlin Clark, Fever
The 57-year-old addressed reporters on Monday. They asked her for her thoughts about the season, and she also talked about the Fever’s three-headed monster.
“I’ve been in this league for 27 years,” Brondello said. “I think we should keep the focus on the basketball, and that’s the most important thing. But obviously, social media, I’m happy it wasn’t when I was playing, definitely. We’ve got a job to do here and we’ve got the best players in the world here. And that’s what the focus should be on, is celebrating these great players. That’s my focus for the rest of the year and trying to get the Tempo to be a better team. But also celebrating.
“How great is this for Toronto to have the Indiana Fever in town? Caitlin, she’s an amazing player. But Kelsey Mitchell’s an amazing player, Aliyah Boston’s an amazing player. It’s not driven by one or two players. It’s driven by all the great players in this league, and our focus should be on them.”

Brondello knows a thing or two about the WNBA. She played in the league from 1998 to 2003 and has been coaching since 2005. The former guard entered the WNBA in 1998 as the No. 34 pick in the fourth round.
Tuesday’s game will tip off at 7 p.m. ET. ESPN will air it live.
