Caitlin Clark’s strong reaction to loaded Angel Reese question
Caitlin Clark played a key role in Team USA’s FIBA World Cup gold medal game on Sunday. The Indiana Fever superstar bounced back from a subpar performance to help the national team capture its fifth straight world championship. She addressed reporters after the matchup with France and had a strong reaction to a loaded Angel Reese question.
Clark finished with 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting, with three assists and two three-pointers in the 97-79 win. She was also a +11 and went 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. The 24-year-old complemented Breanna Stewart and Jackie Young, who finished with 22 and 18 points, respectively. Kahleah Copper added 15, while Chelsea Gray scored 12.
France, on the other hand, was led by Dominique Malonga’s 21 points and six rebounds. Gabby Williams contributed 20 points, three rebounds and seven assists. However, they were the team’s only two players to score in double digits.

Clark was not happy with a reporter who asked her if she is friends with Reese. She called him out before stepping away, but made sure she made her point across clearly by repeating her previous comments.
“We’ve always been friends (so) don’t try to do that,” Clark said.

Clark and Reese have been pitted against each other since their collegiate days. However, despite being rivals in the WNBA, they proved that they can thrive as teammates. The duo played key roles for Team USA and even assisted one another multiple times during the tournament.
The three-time All-Stars will rejoin the Fever and Atlanta Dream, who are battling for the No. 3 seed with the Las Vegas Aces. Both teams have 26-14 records but Reese and her teammates own the tiebreaker. Clark and Co. will face the Toronto Tempo at Coca-Cola Coliseum on Friday. Meanwhile, Reese and the Dream will take on the Washington Mystics on Thursday at Wintrust Arena.
