Colston Loveland did not mince words after Bears’ loss to Vikings
Colston Loveland and the Chicago Bears lost their home opener on Sunday to the Minnesota Vikings. Despite being the favorites to win, the hosts struggled on offense and were shut down in the last three quarters. The second-year tight end did not hold back with his assessment of the team’s performance.
He finished with one reception on three targets for three yards in the 9-3 defeat. The whole offensive unit struggled big time, as only Cairo Santos scored with a field goal, which came in the first quarter. Things also turned from bad to worse as Caleb Williams suffered a hamstring injury with 7:27 left in the game.
Loveland has failed to live up to expectations through the first two weeks of the season. He did not record a catch in the season opener versus the Carolina Panthers and only saw two targets.

Colston Loveland gets brutally honest with Bears’ Week 2 performance
ESPN’s Jeff Joniak spoke to the 22-year-old after the game. Loveland shared his honest take on how he and his team performed at Soldier Field for the first time this season.
“Just a sloppy day,” Loveland said. “Penalties. Turnovers. We knew coming in, whoever wins the turnover margin is probably going to win this game. And we didn’t do that. So just a lot of things we’ve got to clean up. But the time we fought and gave a lot of effort, which is good to see.”

Loveland and Chicago will return to action on “Monday Night Football” on Sept. 28. They will host the Philadelphia Eagles before another road matchup versus the New York Jets in Week 4. Williams’ status will be monitored closely after he undergoes a series on tests on Monday. The team will then embark on a two-game road trip starting in Week against its rivals, the Green Bay Packers.
