Jets Fans React to Week 1 Win: Offensive Line, Demario Davis and Packers Talk

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Kenyon Sadiq Kenyon Sadiq Kenyon Sadiq

The Jets fans in the JetNation forums have plenty to talk about after New York opened the 2026 season with an impressive 23-10 win over the Tennessee Titans. The Jets controlled the game in the trenches, Breece Hall topped 100 yards, and Aaron Glenn’s team walked out of Nashville at 1-0.  If you missed the game, Glenn Naughton has the full Jets vs. Titans game recap, including the biggest takeaways from the season-opening victory.

Now that Week 1 is in the books, the conversation has already shifted to what the Jets did well, what still needs work, and what comes next. Here are some of the topics Jets fans are discussing in the JetNation forums.

Jets Offensive Line Makes a Statement

It’s hard to start anywhere else. The Jets offensive line entered the season with high expectations and delivered in Nashville. Geno Smith wasn’t sacked, while Breece Hall ran 22 times for 102 yards and a touchdown. Braelon Allen added 40 yards on 10 carries, and the Jets consistently controlled the line of scrimmage against Tennessee. The performance has Jets fans wondering just how good this unit can be. Joe Tippmann and Dylan Parham were among the standouts, and the group passed its first test of the season against Jeffery Simmons and the Titans defensive front.

Looking Ahead to Jets vs. Packers

Enjoy the win, but Week 2 is already getting interesting. The Jets return to MetLife Stadium for their home opener against the Green Bay Packers.  Green Bay will arrive at 0-1 after blowing a second-half lead in a 39-22 loss to Minnesota. Carson Wentz came off the bench for the Vikings after Kyler Murray was injured and helped turn the game around.  Minnesota scored 29 unanswered points after trailing 22-10, including 22 points in the fourth quarter. That result has sparked plenty of early discussion about what the Jets might be able to exploit when Green Bay comes to town.

What About the Jets Cornerbacks?

The defense had an excellent afternoon overall, but Jets fans are digging deeper into the performance of the cornerback group. Tennessee struggled to generate much through the air, and the Jets defensive front made life difficult on the Titans passing game. Still, one game doesn’t answer every question about the secondary, especially with a much tougher Green Bay passing attack coming up next.

How comfortable should Jets fans feel about the corners after Week 1?

Demario Davis Is Back

There was plenty of excitement when Demario Davis returned to the Jets this offseason, and Week 1 offered an immediate reminder of what the veteran linebacker brings to the defense. Davis isn’t just here to make tackles. Aaron Glenn and the Jets brought him back to provide leadership and help establish the culture they’re trying to build. After one game, Jets fans are already appreciating having No. 56 back in green and white.

Inside the Jets Locker Room After the Win

A 1-0 start makes for a pretty happy locker room, especially after going on the road and controlling a game the way the Jets did. There’s post game video and reaction making the rounds in the forums, giving fans a look at the atmosphere after Aaron Glenn’s team picked up its first win of the season.

And Then There’s Robert Saleh

Of course, this game had another story line that Jets fans weren’t going to ignore. Former Jets head coach Robert Saleh was on the opposite sideline in Tennessee, and his post game press conference has generated its own reaction in the forums after the Jets handed his Titans an opening-day loss. We’ll just say the responses from Jets fans have been entertaining.

Jets Fans Turn Their Attention to Week 2

One game doesn’t make a season, but this was exactly the type of start the Jets needed. They won on the road, controlled both lines of scrimmage and got strong performances from several of the veterans and young players Aaron Glenn is counting on this season. Now comes a bigger test.

The Packers visit MetLife Stadium on Sunday, and suddenly the Jets have an opportunity to start the season 2-0. After what happened in Nashville, there should be no shortage of things for Jets fans to talk about all week.
