Chicago Bears: No indication for imminent Khalil Mack trade
Sitting at 5-2 after a win over the New England Patriots on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 7, the Chicago Bears have every reason to be buyers before the trade deadline on Nov. 10.
Khalil Mack has been a popular idea for the Bears around the league in recent weeks as the Los Angeles Chargers have an 0-6 record at the bye this week. Mack signed a one-year deal worth $18 million with Los Angeles in March.
Mack, 35, leads the Chargers with three sacks through six games. He spent four seasons with Chicago from 2018 to 2021, making a reunion with the Bears an intriguing storyline before the deadline.
Per Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Chargers are not looking to trade Mack at this point in the season. Los Angeles is still trying to win games. However, Mack’s availability could change depending on how their contests against the Los Angeles Rams and Houston Texans go before the deadline.

“There is expected to be interest in Mack from teams such as the Chicago Bears, but the Los Angeles Chargers have given no indication that they are willing to make any trades at this time. The Chargers (0-6) insist they are trying to win games, but that doesn’t mean they’re not going to get calls on Mack in the coming weeks.”
Mack’s best season with the Bears came in 2018, when he recorded 12.5 sacks. Chicago was a legit contender for the Super Bowl that season, but lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card as a result of the infamous double doink missed field goal attempts by Cody Parkey.
The Bears traded for Mack before the 2018 season in a bid to make a postseason push. They could do so again. While the pass-rusher is no longer in his prime, he can still give Dennis Allen’s defense valuable snaps on a front seven that needs depth.
