Paige Bueckers’ public comments on Angel Reese draw attention
Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese forged a strong bond during their time Team USA. They played alongside each other during the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup and strengthened their friendship. The Dallas Wings guard recently gave public comments about the Atlanta Dream forward that drew attention.
Reese and the Dream are competing in the WNBA Finals against the Golden State Valkyries. They are now up 2-1 in the series after winning Game 3 on Wednesday at State Farm Arena 97-71. The former LSU star recorded 21 points, 12 rebounds and three assists.
Meanwhile, Bueckers and the Wings qualified for the playoffs as the No. 7-seeded team. They finished the regular season with a 27-17 record and faced the Valkyries in the first round. Dallas pushed the series to a winner-take-all matchup but failed to upset the No. 2 seed.
Paige Buckers has nothing but praise for Angel Reese
A reporter asked Bueckers to share her thoughts on Reese’ success this season. The 2025 Rookie of the Year stressed that she deserves it all.
“I’m really happy for her,” Bueckers said. “Me and Angel are close friends, great competitors. People who just want the best for each other. We stayed in contact, just wishing her the best, just talking to her, talking basketball, talking hoops. To see her drive on the biggest stage, she deserves it. She works for it. I’m really happy for her. The crown that she wears is heavy, but she wears it well and she wears it with pride. To see how she handles everything with grace and would just be unapologetically herself, I admire that. So it’s really great to see her here.”
