Alien Jigsaw Site Taken Down, My Reactions

Someone is sure making waves in the alien abduction community lately! Check this out:

The way things are worded is a little confusing, and I had to read it over a couple of times to figure out exactly what is going on here. Kay Wilson tells of being stalked and harassed to the point of feeling pressured to take her site down. It sounds like a single person is behind some sort of campaign.

Then we get to this part, under the heading “Insidious”:

My stalker mailed information to others, making it appear that it was mailed by me to perpetuate lies.”

My husband and I were indeed sent threatening letters a few months ago. We also received strange phone calls from a city right by where the letters were postmarked from (all the way across the country from where we live.) The letters fit the pattern mentioned in the sentence above. To begin with, we were bewildered and rather upset– why would anyone send us letters and harass us with phone calls? Especially in connection with someone we had not seen nor communicated with in nearly 18 years!?! It made no sense what-so-ever.

We contacted the people mentioned in the letter, to find out whether they had indeed been contacted and told of supposedly horrible things my husband and I had done to other abductees. Within a couple of days they were indeed sent letters maligning our characters. Our response was to decide to keep track of things and sit on it and do nothing further. Even IF Kay had sent us such a thing, our reasoning was that she was reacting to some great hurt in her life and it wasn’t personal. Sometimes abductees who are traumatized over-react or react badly to certain situations. It would be wrong not to have compassion for that.

Luckily, everything quieted down by the beginning of the new year (at least for us) and it seemed things were over. To discover now that perhaps whoever was stalking and harassing us was actually going after several people is greatly upsetting. Given that I ended up involved in some way, I feel compelled to say something about all of this.

To begin with, I know that Kay Wilson is an alien abductee/ experiencer because I DID see her on a ship at least once when I was 18 or 19 at some sort of large meeting. I remembered several details, including her hair style at the time, that she later confirmed to me. I have never doubted the sincerity of her reported experiences with either non-human entities nor some sort of quasi-military agency. Indeed, I have found her reports to be a valuable resource.

Further, I have admired her research and appreciated her advocacy for abductees and certain researchers in the field and I am not pleased to see her efforts lost. Whatever personal disagreements may have arisen between us in the far, far past– I never wavered in my support for her work in this field.

A long time ago, in my late teens to mid-20s, I was actively involved with the abduction community. Personal disagreements over lifestyle choices (that had NOTHING to do with alien abductions or paranormal experiences) created some melodrama at one point and my husband and I made our good-byes and walked away for many years. It wasn’t until events in 2006 caused me to seek out help that I tippy-toed back in to this “community.” I got help from a researcher, and a few years later published a couple of articles. I began sharing experiences on my personal blog– eventually starting this blog devoted to just those entries. I even did an interview for Mike Clelland for his blog a couple of years ago. That is the sum total of my involvement for many years. My husband has shied away from even this much, though he supports my own efforts.

Therefore, I was obviously perplexed by the letters we received late last year. And I admit I was vastly tempted to jump to conclusions and assign blame. I’ve been a target of personal vendettas before and such negative experiences can set a person up for paranoid reactions. I was genuinely freaked out for a few days, and then leery for a few weeks more as a couple of straggling letters reached my neighbors and those phone calls went on a while.

I am glad to say that reason prevailed and though we checked with those mentioned in the letters to make sure things were okay, we sat on it and refused to make any sort of public reaction. Some things in the letters did NOT add up. For one, the tone and voice of the letters sounded– well, too young to be a mature person bent on revenge. For another, certain details of events discussed in these letters were inaccurate and often mixed up with other, unrelated events involving other people. Finally, searching the assumed name under which the letter was signed led us to a very surprising identity… and it wasn’t Kay Wilson.

Now I’m glad we didn’t add any fuel to the fire, because it sounds like Kay (and who knows how many other people!) had more than enough on their hands. Just the letters and phone calls we received were upsetting enough– what is described in the article that Ms. Wilson published is beyond anything I could imagine and completely unjustifiable by ANY stretch of the imagination.

For my part, whatever personal issues she and I had between us were released from my heart long ago. I bear no grudges and hold no ill will. My perspective and maturity are certainly far greater than they were then, and I have more empathy for where other people are coming from. Especially with those of us who undergo often very traumatic and humiliating experiences repeatedly– we can and do over-react to perceived threats at times. We can and do project our own fears and fury onto unjustifiable targets at times. We can and do want justice so much we may make decisions we regret later.

I was diagnosed with Complex PTSD in the past, and it was crippling for many years. I still have issues with certain specific triggers. It made me too meek most of the time and too reactionary at other times during my youth and early adulthood. I got therapy and support from my spiritual community, and over the years I am proud to say I have healed. Part of that was realizing that some interpersonal disputes from my past stemmed from other people’s pain. In the heat of a crisis, it can be hard to have compassion for whoever seems to be attacking you, but knowing what so many of us go through, I’ve been managing to hold on to just that, and in this case I find I am deeply grateful I did not add to the negativity.

Honestly, I don’t get the whole stalking thing. I don’t have that kind of energy. Also, I’m altogether too proud to sign my name if I ever DO feel the need to tell someone off. I feel I’m above the behind-the-back anonymous cowardly back-stabbing some feel inclined to use. Everything I ever wanted to say to anyone who ever wronged me I’ve said– and signed my name. Maybe I regretted it later in some cases, but at the very least I own up to it. I have never stalked anyone and I condemn anyone who engages in such a practice.

That said, I am not happy to hear of what has happened, and I’m pissed that we’re losing another valuable contributor to this often difficult area of study. I hope that Kay Wilson is persuaded to change her mind at some point and return her site to the internet. We’ve lost too many people from these sorts of crazy personal attack campaigns, and I’m sickened by it. At Spiral\’s End: What\’s Left After the Paradigm Shatters is the personal paranormal blog of a woman that follows not only current odd events in her life, but recounts incidents from her past, including lifelong alien abductions, encounters with ghosts and other spiritual beings, and premonitions from either waking visions or dreams. She reacts and speculates about the deeper meaning behind these incidents and wonders– what is the ultimate reality or intelligence behind it all?
