Indian Drone Goes Right Over My House
So… this is weird news.
I heard what I thought was a small plane flying too low coming straight at my house from the NNW, and I looked up and was waiting to see what emerged. Then I saw something quite unexpected: An obvious drone.
I have a chart for identifying drones and only one looks like what I saw, which had tiny wings in front with larger wings in back. This is a portion of that chart, with a tree and person for some perspective on size:
As you can see, there is a drone called the Rustom 1 on there (middle left) and what I saw looked like that. I looked up the Rustom 1 and was surprised to find that its used by the military in India!

Looking for a link to the USA, I found out that a lab in Colorado is making the next prototype of the Rustom, called the Rustom 2, which was scheduled to be ready to go and up for sale this February 2014.
I am confused as to why they’d be doing test flights over Oregon, though. This thing was about the size of a very small plane, but was definitely flying very low to the ground (only maybe 70 feet above my head, so maybe 420 feet above sea level in altitude.)
In any event, its my official first drone sighting ever. I’m not exactly pleased about it because– you know… *sigh*
