My Mid-Decade Series On Sociopaths, Minions, & Empaths

This topic is far more serious, but it’s one that I and many others have struggled with: How often vile people get neutral people to side with them against good people. Why? How?

Whew!! That was crazy to re-read and re-post. It may be the writing series I’m most proud of, though. Crucial information and lots to think about and reassess for one’s past drama in past relationships. Reading the articles I commented upon and writing the series helped me cement some things, though– and over a year later when Gerick started acting like a sociopath (though it was a narcissistic break, really) and used the twinks as minions, at least I had a perspective that helped me climb out of the gaslit nightmare I found myself in… again!

More recently, Tess has exposed herself as a weak minion. She’ll passively allow others to hurt her friends, or hurt them herself, for no reason than someone told her to! She’s incredibly weak, and I suspected as much, but hoped exposure to a new life would help her “heal” out of it. However, I now believe that minions are almost as unreformable as sociopaths. What you are by the time you’re 25 or so is what you’ll be in that Triad forever. Either evil, good, or weak/cowardly/eager to jump on a bandwagon to hurt others if the opportunity arrives.

I learned a long time ago to steer clear of sociopaths if at all possible, but now I’m realizing that I have to steer clear of minions, too. They’re too easily swayed to stab me in the back and I can’t have that. I can have them as distant associates (indeed, as they are the majority in our society, it’s impossible to avoid minions altogether) but I won’t be intimately involved with them anymore. It’s a waste of time and energy to become attached to such fair-weather friends.
