| Driving west along the A96 towards Inverness, at Allanfearn we had a clear view of the Kessock Bridge and its red tower lights. Moving down slowly over the bridge was a large, solid orange orb – no flashing lights or flickering. It was a substantial size as seen from our position 3.3 miles away and compared to the bridge. As the passenger I kept my eye on it and observed it go behind one of the towers towards the water of the Beauly Firth, and then disappear. Drivers crossing the bridge must have had an excellent view of it.
