At Last the Tides Have Turned

As awful as events were in our nation’s capitol, I must admit there has been an odd sense of being freed now that things have “gone down” in such a way. By freed, I mean I have been feeling very muzzled in comparison to what I’ve wanted to say for so long… to keep the peace, to give people a chance to figure it out on their own learning curve without me being patronizing. (To be sure, I don’t carry on and rant in normal conversations like I do on my blog, so I don’t really mean here.) I’ve held back and bit my lip trying not to make enemies both online and off, and I still lost my once best friend despite all my efforts.

I’ve tried to be “civilized” and “fair” and watched that stance do not one wit of good. So… given that my own fears and misgivings have been UTTERLY and COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED… I’m feeling rather upbeat and relieved. I don’t owe anyone proof anymore. Trump is dangerous and a fascist and he’s been inciting civil unrest for years, but especially this last year and most prominently in these last weeks now that he’s legitimately lost an election and is throwing a tantrum about it.

A LOT of people believe his lies and the lies of the Russian (and other interests) disinformation campaigns. I watched David Wilcock succumb to it and many other once gifted alternative news sources got sucked down into the mire as well (even JM Greer to some extent), and all the pointing at the obvious by people like me fell on largely deaf ears. It became greatly distressing to watch source after source become compromised to hate groups.

Even the once moderate Republicans saw an opportunity to raise funds by acting as though the obvious lies were true, despite the dangers in supporting such lunacy. Social media allowed the bullshit because it made them money as people tweeted and instagrammed and Facebooked their way through more and more upsetting topics, and special algorithms encouraged crazier and crazier content and put people in increasingly echoing bubbles until they thought nearly everyone agreed with them, when… no.

And– yeah… it was dangerous and we said so, yet not enough people in power listened, and now guess what–? I’m not going to pretend to take idiots seriously anymore. I know that rural whites are treated terribly and that things need to change for them, but the ones promising them a way out are just using them maliciously, and then leaving them back in the sewage again without so much as a wave good-bye. They need to realize they’re dupes, chumps, tools, rubes, marks, and outright FOOLS being taken advantage of, and they need to smell the coffee and wake the fuck up! I say this for the ones who mean well and are desperate and making stupid mistakes. I’ll call it like I see it and then walk away rather than argue fruitlessly with someone who can’t accept how wrong they are.

For those who are crazy and/or just outright evil however? NO more dialogue with that group! I’m done with the Nazis and Fascists and White Power bullshit assholes. I already know it’s wasting my breath to even bother talking things through, because they’re too rotten inside their soul to bother questioning their own disgusting beliefs and I’m not going to do anything but guerilla warfare with these jerks. I’ll call them out to their bosses and get them fired (anonymously– because they’re dangerous). I’ll confront them when it’s safe to do so at a distance. But mostly I’m going to leave them to their bubbles of hate and abandon them and not listen. The less people like me pay attention (except to spy on them and rat them out to the FBI as some lefties I know are doing) the less they get to put on their little shows to feed their pathetic little egos.

I’m watching with a sense of relief, too, to see that private companies are at last banning Trump and some of his Nazi/Fascist sympathizers from Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Interestingly, all of these platforms (and even Apple App Store and Google Play App Store) were SHAMED into banning the monster by their own employees, who argued with their leadership to ban the douchenozzle and got nowhere– until they shared their inter-company disputes with the media, and THEN the CEOs of those companies finally fucking caved! The fact they FINALLY were capable of being ashamed into doing the right thing after everything that’s happened (and I’m sure it’s not done yet, left-wing spies are finding plans for more violence Inauguration Week, starting that Sunday) shows what it’s finally taken for sanity to be restored.

Profit over integrity brought us to this, and as a people, enough of us are done with it that we’re all rising up and contacting our representatives and telling them that enough is enough. Maybe at last we’re being heard. We’ve put up with the enablers of Trump’s bullshit long enough and we all seem to be saying the same thing: PUNISH the complicit of the Republicans, FUCK ”PEACE” for the inciters of violence!!!

I am relieved because I don’t have to justify my fears and keep re-explaining how history tells us these things go down. It’s NOT ”really different this time.” No, it’s the fucking same. Now I’m free from arguing about it. I’m right and all those shit heads were wrong and I don’t have to offer them another second of my time. I can say, “NOPE! We should do it this way!” and go on and not even bother engaging.

It feels really good, actually. The tides have turned at last…

For years, I’ve been watching in disbelief as Trump was allowed to get away with lying constantly and breaking laws right and left and misusing his power and all without shame or remorse. It was pathetic, yet he was enabled, indeed encouraged, by those who allowed him to get away with it, over and over and over again. And weak people believed his lies, as weak people often do all over the world and throughout the last century or more. Millions of people have died through violence at the behest of an asshole liar– and I know this and now I get how societies slide into these traps. It starts by allowing the small stuff to slide, usually because some people hope to use the asshole for their own means (for conservative judges, or to raise campaign money, or to further a conservative religion) and then the meglomaniac gets emboldened and behaves WORSE, and STILL no one steps up, believing erroneously that surely, surely the Weasel in Charge won’t cross this line…. or THIS one… or no, THAT one… On and on it goes and the “good” people make a deal with the devil for their own agenda and one day they discover that it was a mistake and it’s too late to fix it.

Some of us knew long, long ago and warned them, but they didn’t listen because of ego and greed.

The attack of the Capitol by a malicious mob broke that little game wide open and they can’t play it anymore, and I’m so glad it’s at last been openly seen, heard, explained, and the Devil Deals are getting called out, one by one, and destroyed. No more profit off of lying! No more letting this maniac use the Bully Pulpit to spread lies and work people up on his behalf. No more pretending he’s not that bad. No more. No more. NO more!

I said I was tired of fighting, and I meant it. I won’t fight with people over these issues anymore. I will cut them off.

If you support Trump, best Unfriend me now and find another place to comment. I’m done with playing the games. You’re wrong if you’re a Trumper and always have been about this prick, and I’m right and always have been about the same person from the beginning. It’s so obvious that no one who supports him is worth my time anymore. If you support Trump, your judgment is faulty and not worth my respect, so I won’t waste my time with you anymore.

I can trust my own judgment and stop questioning my sanity. The problem really IS coming from the other side, period, end of discussion. And I’m not entertaining fools lightly anymore. I’m showing you the exit doors and getting on with my life.
