New Renter Moves In!

It’s been a busy weekend, and I’m pretty tired after all that, so this will be a brief update for now and I’ll go into more detail later.

Cat and I finished some last minute things before Mike, our new renter and a long time friend of mine, got here. I had no internet for a couple of days because it started failing and Cat called Wave because her work depends on high-speed internet and it was slowing way down, and was never as fast as it was supposed to be to begin with! They sent out a guy and it turned out our fiberoptic cables were OLD– like embarrassingly so, and so they had to not only fix some things on the house, they had to run new lines on the street! Wave brought out trucks and restrung a bunch of cable all along the street within 2 hours of the guy calling it in, and I was astonished, but the it still took a while to get it all straightened out.

Then Mike was moving in Sunday afternoon and it was all talk talk talk talk!!

So far, so good. Cat’s adjusting to another person in the household, but she admitted she needed more help than I could give, and Mike is being very helpful and accommodating like I knew he would be… SUPER respectful. And he’s quiet and gentle and so he doesn’t feel very intrusive.

I’m feeling really comfortable so far, and Cat is settling in with Mike way faster than I expected her to, so I’m hopeful we’ll all find our new comfort zones sooner as opposed to later (or not at all, ack!)
