AC CRAPS OUT AND WE'RE COOKING!!

God fucking dammit!

Upper 90s Friday, then
over 100 today, then
102-106 Sunday, then
112-118 degrees on Monday!!

And guess whose home AC just crapped out?!?!? OMG!!!

The fan stopped working on our home heat pump/AC unit. I’ve heard it’s not super easy to fix, but it’s not uncommon. Everyone was closed for the weekend, and several heating and air conditioning places are booked up until mid-July!!!

We’re STUCK with this shit until after these totally HISTORIC record-breaking temperatures have already cooled off a little (a 50 degree drop in temperatures is expected Monday late night into Tuesday early morning!) In addition, our humidity, which is normally around 30% to 40% this time of year is at 80%!!! So– combine that sticky mugginess with super high temps and I feel like I’m back in New Orleans! But there are no thunder storms to release all the energy. It’s just cooking under higher and higher pressure!

…which I discovered was the cause of my multiple migraines in the last week. A super high air pressure system camped just off-shore, and is now just on-shore, and it was a record-breaking air pressure system, and THAT, my doctor told me, is what set off my migraines. Apparently, a BUNCH of people had migraines triggered all up and down the PNW, and she said she saw multiple patients with my complaint. (We texted as I was setting up my next appointment with her.) So, that is one medical mystery solved anyways.

Luckily, because I am such a “Plan B” type of prepper person, we STILL HAD FANS AND A ROOM AC UNIT stored in the garage. We pulled them all out and used them last night and will use them every night we can, though night-time temps are well into the mid-70s so it’s not that cool, but compared to 100 plus degrees, we’ll take it! The AC unit for a single room (with a vent for a window) we set up in the guest room as our own “cooling station” so we can have a get away. I already know I’ll be camped out there every day for the afternoon, just like I was today. I don’t have my laptop up there, and I can’t move it for long due to a bad charging cord which can’t be moved (both charging cords I own for this PC have this issue) so I won’t be able to get much done for a few days.

This is nuts.
