Christopher Titus Night!

I know I’m begging Omicron to get me, but… I went to a comedy club (with proof of vax and masks required except while drinking and eating) to see my favorite comedian, Christopher Titus.

You can watch many of his specials and the 3 seasons of his show on Youtube. Just saying, it’s worth a little catch-up if you want to know what I’m talking about.

I got into Titus in the 90s because he came from a fucked up family like I did and his first 2 big shows, “Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding” and “Love Is Evol” made me DIE laughing. Those shows STILL make me laugh! I’ve followed him for over 30 years now.

He finally came back out for careful comedy in careful venues, and I got to see him live tonight! Thank you to Cat for buying tickets for us both while high! It was worth it!

I wrote this on Facebook tonight:

“Tacoma Comedy Club. Christopher Titus. 5 minutes in, I’m 3rd row center and he’s making eye contact as if seeking approval for a 3.5 minute spate of dick and truck nut jokes. I’m game. I nod and laugh and cry. Yes…! APPROVAL GRANTED!!! After that, he only noticed my table when my roomie yawned because 10pm is past her bedtime. But I had that 3 and a half minutes of blue eyes on hazel… “Is this dick joke okay? What about THIS one?” and I’m nodding and we’re all good. GREAT night!“

Cat got us a complete “Gold” Package because… Cat. And so I ate food plus my 2 alcoholic drinks, plus 1 and a half of HER alcoholic drinks–! And we can see how jolly that makes me, yes?

Anyways… the last cool thing I did in public was go to a Bernie Sanders rally before the election and the pandemic shut shit down almost 3 years ago! If I get Omicron for this, it was worth it– but note I’m vaxxed, boostered, AND flu vaxxed!

And for 3.5 minutes of a long hour’s set with Titus, I had most of his attention. Maybe he wondered if the lesbians would get his humor? (Because Cat and I going out look like hippy lezzies, no question!) But whatever the reason… it was a wild ride and I haven’t laughed that hard for THAT long since I was a teenager!

Thank you, Christopher Titus! I plan to do this again.
