A Touch of Omicron, Awash In Fatigue

Well, my going out in public so much almost 2 weeks ago got me sick. Maybe just a bad cold, but given the symptoms I’ve had (wheezy cough, terrible headache, dizziness, glass-grinding stomach ache…) I think there’s a good chance it’s the latest Omicron variant. Maybe not, and I’ve had my vaccine and booster (J&J/Jansen lasts 9 months to a year) so it’s probably much milder than it might otherwise have been, but–!

We have a home test, but since the symptoms are so mild, it feels like a waste to check for sure. I put myself on social quarantine for 2 weeks just in case– and that’s over Wednesday.

The worst part is the headaches and fatigue. Almost migraine-like in intensity, and the fatigue is some of the worst I’ve had since last summer. I’m very careful about my air quality (and we haven’t had the heat OR air conditioning on much, it’s been so mild for weeks) so it’s got to be a virus. And I get fatigue issues when I get a cold, but rarely anything that lasts longer than 2 or 3 days. My immune system is acting like this is something different– hence, my suspicion it’s Covid Omicron B or whatever they’re on now.

I have such a busy schedule this summer! The fatigue is kicking my ass but good.
