Weekend With Amara & Meeting A Ghost

After Thursday’s work and dealing with my mother, I was thrilled that Amara offered to host me for the weekend!

Reese and Sleep were both working most of the time, and I had Amara’s final knowledge test and Trial by Fire to do, and as she just moved southwest of Portland to a brand new apartment complex, as I’m in town– it seems I can save her the long trip up to Kitsap for these things.

But also–? We’d get to relax and socialize. (It’s weird to be her teacher and her friend, but I’ve navigated such waters before and hopefully I’ve got the knack by now…) And I really, really needed that after the chaos and frantic activity of the last couple of days!

Amara is goth, through and through, and it shows in her decor. It was comfortable, eclectic, and spicy! So much dark, lovely flavor! Her office/alter area was particularly wonderful, with displays of skulls (real and artistic) and eccentric taxidermy and vials of mysterious substances and all sorts of curious things. She’s got Halloween as a kitchen theme and things were just so… comfortable! I felt at home immediately, and I NEVER feel that way in other people’s homes. But Amara’s–? Yes.

My spirit felt quite revived, and we easily lounged and talked at length about many things.

Our first night we were sitting on her bed at one point, and I was facing the large stand up mirror she had in the corner. I distinctly saw a man wearing a blue plaid shirt just walk behind me and into the large walk-in closet (which had an open door)! I told Amara immediately what I saw and turned and looked around. It happened so fast, but I was sure about it. He faded as he went into the closet, so it was clearly a ghost. Amara said her last apartment was haunted (or something) but this one not so much. I had news for her– yes, it was!

She insisted I take her bed, and I demurred, but she said she loved her sofa and gave me other reasons…. So I relented, but with gratitude since it is difficult for me to sleep as it is. As we were settling in, I heard someone knock loudly on the bedroom closet door, but Amara and her cat were in the living room–! I told her about it and then addressed the ghost who was trying to get our attention. I told him to try again the next night, as we were both too wiped out for that night. I felt a cold spot come up to me by the closet door (with the door open) and again informed Amara that it was quite clear that the ghost was responding. I crawled into bed shortly thereafter without incident.

Some might ask, was I scared? But I truly wasn’t. This ghost wanted attention, but was polite. I sensed nothing negative at all from him, and in fact, rather the opposite. My instincts told me this was a good spirit. And as the apartment was so new that the interiors of some apartments were still being finished, it wasn’t likely to be a place haunting. This was most likely an independent and traveling spirit. Could it be that the very psychic Amara has a “spirit guide” type of ghost who wanted to make contact?

Perhaps…

Saturday, she and I got up at 6am (yes, I slept that well!) and went for a vigorous walk around a park near-by, complete with a pond and pathways. Smoke from fires was making the sky orange with filtered sunlight, but you could just barely smell the smoke. It was too hot for exercising any other time, so we took advantage. We ended up talking about the whole Tribe thing as we strolled, and then about my weird alien visions and such. I told her I didn’t really know about the future, but things were starting to fall into line with many of those visions, and so I was attempting to prepare myself and my friends of the Tribe. Amara typically asks a lot of questions, but I DO love to drone on, so it worked.

She was stuck trying to learn the Sacred Tree Calendar, so I taught her about neumonics– memory tricks. We went through the trees and she made a mental picture to go with each one. Later we studied a bit, and then she took her test and passed with flying colors! She had been nervous, but between the neumonics and her answering bonus questions, she scored very, very high. No issues at all!

Then we did our Trial by Fire (and it’s a Level One trial– so that meant a candle!) and… so she’s done it. She’s completed the Initiate program and can celebrate when next she comes up to Kitsap! We were feeling very accomplished.

We passed the rest of the evening in an altered state, just relating and enjoying hanging out. I tested out some of her oils, and she let me take some samples home, which was wonderful! Towards the end of the evening, I saw the distinct outline of a man in the open doorway of the bathroom. As soon as I greeted him, he walked right up to me, and I could tell he was trying to say something…

… but I couldn’t hear him. And I told him so and apologized. I hoped my relaxed and open state would make it easier to “tune in” but the speedier aspect meant my brain was too… gripped and tense to open up psychically. My mediumship skills went to shit! I felt bad, but at least the rest of the day went very well.
