Back In the Land of Portals

I’m actually west of Portland with Amara from today thru Thursday evening, and it was an eventful day! I got ready, scrambling a bit because yesterday I was just effing useless– but I was all packed and ready to go a full 2 hours before she arrived at Heron Hold. Then I got Mike to help her take that cabinet she was offering to the Circle all the way up to the attic to the spot I had made for it– and it fit perfectly! She and I used the restroom and then got ready to go and said our good-byes to Mike.

On the drive down, we talked in detail about the interview I had with Jim, and she asked me lots of follow up questions, especially regarding “The Plan” and how that would all go down as I understand it, and– well, I went ahead and answered her. She always asks me great questions! My gods… It made the 3 hour drive (if you speed the whole way) pass very quickly.

She also told me more about the married guy she was so attracted to… and she got a chance to hang around him (with friends around) last weekend and realized he has issues with maturity and intensity (or anger) that she wasn’t ready to take on.

That’s a relief!

I knew the guy was no good given his 120mph speeding through rural winding roads AND that he was feeling very sorry for himself having such a wife that he felt the need to have an affair. I mean– GAH! Bleck! >=^P

So, I hope the shine has come off the turd already!

In any event, once again I walk into her apartment and find myself feeling very relaxed and comfortable, almost more so than I ever am, and I wonder at it to this day. I just don’t feel that at ease with people, let alone in their personal space, but for some reason… with Amara it’s just nice!

Sometimes, as much as I love where I live, I need to get out of there! And going to Reese’s is never comfortable, even less so after my last time staying there. Making plans to stay several days with Amara was the smart thing to do, even before Reese verbally smacked me.

I don’t always feel true gratitude, but I really do here with this particular person. She soothes me! And maybe that’s only for now, and maybe it’s partially an illusion… I don’t know. But I’m enjoying feeling okay and safe while I can.
