Why Are They Keeping Us Poor?
The reasons why the government wants to keep Americans poor have been discussed over and over again for decades now. Some say it`s because poor people are addicted to governmental help, therefore easier to control. Others say they want to bring people to the point where they start a massive violent riot, so they can institute martial law. I`ve also heard a third variant: the government works hand in hand with the fast food corporations, so the more poor people there are, the more they`ll buy unhealthy, cheap food from these fast food chains.
All of these could be perfectly true. In fact, I`m sure they`re all factors in this shameless impoverishment of the U.S.A. However, there is one major reason that`s usually left out. A reason that is basically the root of all governmental activity, in all departments and in all projects:
They Don`t Care!
It`s as simple as that. They`re too ignorant and careless to think things through. They`ve got better things to do that to plan budgets and create meaningful laws… and then actually stick to the program all the way through. It`s just too exhausting and it requires thinking and we all know your career as a governmental employee ends the moment you start working on things that actually make sense.
And no, I`m not even being ironic. I`m being realistic. It`s perfectly explainable from a psychological point of view. It`s all about work environment and its effect on your performance and results. If what you see when you go to work everyday is a bunch of people playing Solitaire, drinking coffee and talking on the phone, simply because “everyone`s doing it, anyway” and “no one`s really working around here”… I assure you that, no matter how motivated you are as a person, you`re going to end up exchanging recipes or talking about “that show on tv last night” with the rest of the lazy bones. It`s just how we work. We get influenced. We mimic behaviors. And we lose motivation before you even drink your first coffee Monday morning.
Imagine that people like the ones I`ve just described before are the ones planning, implementing and assessing annual budgets for the entire country. They`re the ones deciding how much money go to health care, defense or education and how that money will be spent.
So when you think about it, it`s really no surprise that, every single year, financial auditors discover these huge, unexplainable holes in the budget. “Where did the money go?” “Well, you see… we lost the receipts” “For $26 billion?!” “It happens”.
Thankfully, from time to time, the truth comes out and we get to see where the money goes. And then we wish we hadn`t found out, because we all know very well that next year… we`ll be paying for the same frivolous activities and faulty programs with OUR hard worked money. Just like we payed for the IRS employees` parties at luxury hotels…

Just like we helped the government fund terrorist cells, while pretending to fight against them…

And just like we paid twice for the same useless governmental programs…

Honestly, of all the above, I am most infuriated by the duplicate projects. Yes, I know those slobs at the IRS don`t deserve luxury hotels and baseball games. And I certainly don`t want my money to help terrorists attack my country. But the fact that governmental employees are SO careless and corrupt that $95 billion worth of duplicate projects “slipped” their eyes drives me nuts! And here`s where I totally flipped out:
“The findings suggest that identifying overlaps earlier could have prevented the sequester.” (RTAmerica)
So there you have it, America. The reason why 1 in 4 people in this country is poor is (also) because They don`t give a damn about us. Not even for this very simple and selfish reason: if the country goes down, they go down with it. They lose their jobs. They lose their fat paychecks and their fat bonuses. They get dragged in the poverty they created. But it`s hard to think this far into the future when the coffee`s steamy hot, you`re a Solitaire God and “no one`s really working around here anyway”.
