% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

If you think you can now survive almost anything with your preps, you should up your prepping level and aim to survive anything.

Most preppers get ready for any major disaster that might hit their area. They also have a plan in place in case SHTF. Some of the plans and provisions they have made include:

  • Several months’ worth of food supplies and a garden
  • Having water in storage plus a barrel for catching rainwater and various methods water purification. They also have a good knowledge of where they might be able to get water in times of emergency to replenish their supply.
  • Fire starters, candles, lamps
  • Cooking equipment
  • A complete first aid kit plus various medications (including prescription meds and OTC meds)
  • A good sized generator, fuel supply, utility lights, extension cords
  • Extra clothing and footwear for all kinds of weather
  • Different kinds of tools – used for repairing, building, cutting
  • Flashlights and extra batteries and bulbs
  • Self defense weapons – firearms and ammunition; knives, other objects that can be used for self defense

But for extreme preppers, the above provisions are just the basics. These preppers have all these plans and provisions and more which makes them highly likely to survive even the worst disasters. Extreme preppers not only have one plan, but multiple ones and they have several tiers in their extreme survival gear.

An extreme survival gear has everything you need to survive all projected disaster scenarios plus backups to these provisions and plans. It also has four tiers:

  1. Home provisions
  2. Everyday carry
  3. Survival bag kept in the car
  4. Bug out bag

Home Provisions

Your home provisions obviously have all survival items and tools you might need if you are to bug in. These include means to protect your family and your supplies.

Everyday Carry

An everyday carry (EDC) is a small pouch, bag or body bag that contains the following:

  • a good quality folding knife
  • fire starters (lighter, fire steel, waterproof matches)
  • cordage
  • small compass
  • whistle
  • pinch light
  • lock picks
  • handcuff keys
  • self defense weapon (i.e. small firearm, mace) – be sure to have the required license
  • other necessary items that can fit in a reasonably sized EDC

  • Water bottle
  • Water purification kit that contains water filters, iodine tablets
  • Fire starters (more than one kind and have at least 3 of each kind); small container filled with tinder
  • Flashlight
  • First aid kit
  • Cordage – can never have enough of these
  • Energy bars – must be nutrient dense and high in calorie content
  • Signal mirror
  • Whistle
  • Shelter – tarp, bivy, poncho, anything light and foldable
  • Cuff key and lock picks
  • Multi-tool

It might seem that putting together an extreme survival gear is intimidating but if you take a moment to assess your own needs and skill set and consider your environment, you will be able to figure out how to start.

The lists provided above are just examples. Come up with your own lists that are more suitable to your situation. The most important thing is to know what to have in order to be truly ready, be organized and be familiar with all the items and tools in your extreme survival kit. Start building a survival gear that is highly customized for you and your family.
