These Strange Amazon Purchases

I’m sure the few dozen people who read my blog know that I whore out Amazon Affiliate Links.  It really is a no brainer for me. I don’t make a lot of money from these but I make enough to cover the hosting costs for a year and a little extra to buy a few preps.

This year with my leftover amazon money I purchased some twine.

That being said, the nice thing about Amazon affiliate links is that any other purchase that’s made while my ‘affiliate cookie’ is still enabled counts towards my affiliate pay out.

I have one thing to say:

I’m not judging. Don’t think I’m judging. I’m just saying that considering this is a prepping blog, there are some strange choices made in purchasing based on my affiliate links.

Kind of like a cock ring. Because delaying ejaculation is an important consideration after an asteroid hits the planet. There were also a variety of rubber vaginas, plastic anus’s, and a whole host of phallus like objects.  Kinky!

Then there were luxury appliances.  Someone needed an espresso machine. I will admit that as far as espresso machines go, it’s an excellent price. There was a smattering of coffee makers, cheap food processors and even the occasional vibrating back massager, which I think MAY have more to do with the paragraph above.  There was even some DJ equipment mixed in there, because I’m guessing we all want to party like it’s 1999 when the zombies come about.

The point to all this though (besides entertainment) was that there were some things there that I wouldn’t have considered as survival items that might actually be. Things that some people purchased:

• A book on Child Health Nursing.  I have only looked at general medical first aid. I’m sure children have some extra or different needs I never had considered.
• Fruit and veggie capsules – I’m thinking this stores well and will provide some necessary nutrients like vitamin C (prevents scurvy) during times when maybe low quality foods are only available.
• Your eyes are likely going to be your most important asset. So these safety goggles might come in handy. Protection from a storm, or running through the bush, or even shrapnel or thrown objects. Also anti fog. Neat.
• As above, these kevlar sleeves protect your hands and forearms against abrasions, sparks and heat. That’s a good idea when you’ll be very physical and the lack of antibiotics mean an infection could be fatal.
• I’d think of paring these kevlar gloves with the kevlar sleeves mentioned above. I think that’s probably what the buyer did. Eh?

So yea. Amazon is good. That’s all I have to say.
