Received word from loyal reader JM that there is an approaching solar disturbance that will impact the planet sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning. This is a continuation from an earlier flare that appears to have damaged some power plant systems and grounded airlines in Sweden.

Remember Mount St. Helens eruption back in 1980? I do. It was an edge of the seat event that being 11 years old fascinated me. The sheer amount of earth that was blown into the atmosphere and slid down the side of the mountain is just incredible.
Well – Mount St. Helens is in the news again as a discovery of a magma pool under it has been discovered. Lets hope any trouble is WAY off in the future.
