DIY Solar Water Distiller

You will need:

• Empty water or soda bottles
• Drill
• Glue or tape

Procedure:

Step 1: Drill a hole into the cap of your water bottles. (see picture bellow)

Step 2: Glue or tape the caps of your water bottles together.

Step 3: Fill one bottle with dirty water or salt water or any contaminated water then connect the second bottle. Set it in the sun and in a few minutes you will notice that water will start to evaporate and the other bottle collects the clean and distilled water vapor.

• Recycle and Proper Disposal

By properly recycling and disposing of the items that cannot be recycled, we are also making sure that these unrecyclable items do not get to our rivers and oceans.

If you want to stop harmful chemicals from getting into our water, the best way to do it is by simply stop using them. There are plenty of natural and chemical free products that we can use as a substitute to these chemical based products. From your laundry detergent to your window cleaners, we must always think to go natural.

• Participate In Cleanup Efforts

Help in your community’s cleanup drives. Help clean the beaches and river beds to keep trash from entering the water supply.

• Reuse Water

Setting up a home rainwater capture system to maximize your home water use is one of the best ways to reuse water. You can use rainwater to water your plants, wash your car, or make natural cleaning detergents.
