Faking Autism to Defend against Sex Assault Recalls Earlier Gun-Grabber Absurdities

U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- A college student deterred an attack by a sexual predator by faking a neurobehavioral disorder, New York’s Westchester County District Attorney announced in a Sept. 24 press release. Guilty pleas by the perpetrator resulted in two concurrent 2.5-year terms for attempted sex crimes against the student:

“Ariel Caro, knocked on a student’s dorm room door at Pace University in Pleasantville. When she opened the door, expecting someone else, Caro pushed his way in, closed the door behind him and blocked her access. At that point, Caro exposed himself and proceeded to masturbate in front of her. The resident asked him to leave, fearing what he might do to her. He continued his actions and tried verbally to engage her. Using her wits, the student began to repeat a series of expressions, acting, she said, as if she suffered from a form of autism, as she had seen on television. As she got louder, he chose to flee.”

My first thought was of admiration for the student keeping enough control of her fears to proactively resist in that way. My immediate afterthought is how lucky she is that tactic worked and that her life did not depend, that time, on being able to escalate the amount of force needed.

That’s because, along with “George Foreman grills…liquor bottles  [and] pets (other than fish),” Pace Westchester Housing also prohibits “guns…knives or swords [and] weapons of any kind.” While the odds are this student probably reflects the values and political beliefs of her peers, the point is had she been confronted by an enraged male with superior strength and no reservations about using violence to get what he wanted, the story could have ended very differently for her. The other point is, regardless of how she feels about the subject of armed defense, that choice has been taken from her and dictated for all by “authorities” with enforcement and punishment powers.

That takes me back to another story of obnoxious and potentially deadly “advice” offered by the Illinois State Police, back before Public Act 98-63, the Firearm Concealed Carry Act became state law. It still applies wherever the weaker are vulnerable to the stronger because having a firearm for self-defense is prohibited.

“Fighting would probably be futile if your assailant has a gun or knife, or there is more than one attacker,” the ISP advised. Besides, maybe you could talk your way out of it, “since many attacks on women are not sexually motivated, and are designed to degrade and humiliate…”

As if to grant that wish, the ISP recommended “telling an attacker that you have VD or AIDS,” presupposing he does not. And my personal favorite:

“It may sound disgusting, but putting your fingers into your throat and making yourself vomit usually gets results.”

“Use your imagination and you can think of others,” the ISP helpfully suggested.

Yeah, like maybe you could bleed out while howling in animal terror and agony.

“If you must fight, use of a firearm to protect yourself or property is not recommended,” the desk-bound dolt who wrote that presumptuous tripe pronounced. “Half of all the women that fire a gun trying to protect themselves shoot someone they do not want to, i.e. friend, neighbors, relatives, etc.”

There’s no source cited for that, but then again it’s not like we’re talking scholarly work here. Besides, in fairness, the ISP did say you could use a “rat-tail comb” and “straight jabs” if the vomiting doesn’t work, but guns, sorry, they’re just too much for you poor, fluff-headed, incompetent little dears.

Then again, before decrying the blatant sexism of that, this line of thinking is central to the messaging from all the right gun-grabbers. They’re the ones who say firearms in the home mean women are more likely to be murdered. What they don’t tell you, intentionally, is their number pool is polluted by criminal-cohabitating women who have made serial crappy choices in sex partners and end up living with (and supporting in many cases) “prohibited persons” who have stolen guns.

The gun may not even “belong” there—just being brought in by a visiting criminal associate is enough to “qualify.” The scam is to make it look like what goes on in the underworld is the baseline for normal, and of course, to spook a herd not inclined to learn more and think things through.

Someone whose entire political career has relied on that as a linchpin is District of Columbia Delegate to the United States House of Representatives, Eleanor Holmes Norton. She was protesting NRA’S “Refuse to be a victim” program, and, per the January 1994 issue of Women & Guns magazine, declared:

“Women are virgins when it comes to guns. It should stay that way.”

So don’t listen to some hateful, sexist man who thinks you should consider having and learning how to responsibly use a gun, ladies.  Instead, heed the liberating counsel of the Opposite Day “progressive” feminists, who basically leave things at:

Don’t you worry your pretty little heads about it. Besides, you’ll always have Rapex.
