Revised Schedule, Winter 2020
This has been a tough winter for scheduling and planning. With our family’s impending move, family commitments, parental responsibilities, etc., monkey wrenches keep being thrown into my efforts at scheduling. But while we can’t control what happens to us in this life, we can control how we respond. I’m responding by offering a variety of short folk school programs.
For the first time in a long time we won’t be running a Boreal Snowshoe Expedition in 2020. After discussing it with my family, I’ve decided to cancel the trip for this year with the understanding that next year it will be back, bigger and better than ever. The main reason is parental responsibilities; after exploring a variety of options it just didn’t work for me to be away for 2 weeks this winter.
As a result, we’ll be offering one last winter of programming at the folk school in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. These programs are smaller and include accommodations in our modern lodge. While we will be busy during the day, they will not require camping in bitter cold conditions like is sometimes the case at the field school in winter. What this means for you is that you can participate without spending a bunch of money on gear. We do have winter tents and staying in them will be an option, but not a requirement.
The maximum size for all overnight programs is 4. We’re roughly 2 hours from downtown Boston, an hour from the seacoast and a bit over an hour from Manch-Vegas (Manchester, NH).
