The NAACP-We Need an NAACP Tea Party

Today was a sad day for the NAACP. In past times this once proud and noble organization stood for justice and fair treatment. Many have remembered this struggle and the respect they had for this organization. Many NAACP goals have been achieved. African Americans occupy leadership poistions from the Presidency, through Congress, and in many elected offices of all levels of the US government. Though the world is still not perfect it’s a lot different than 30 years ago. So much so that in recent years some have seen the NAACP struggling for a message and a mission.

When your primary mission has been achieved you move on the next one. When you have penetrated the highest corriders of government power and the media the next logical target would be economic development for the average African American. Yet rather than focus on quality education, entrepreneurship and business education the NAACP has taken the quick political route-government power and servitude for the average African American. Why would they do this? Because the leadership of f the NAACP has the same problem as the US Government -it no longer serves its members. It has been infected with the same politics of self interest and corruption as our Government leaders. It’s a lot easier to join the race for government cash to control with deals for your friends than focus on helping your constituents.

The leadership of the NAACP had a great chance to lead this week. If it had condemned the Racism of the New Black Panthers and reiterated it’s message of “no racism” it could have taken a national leadership position for ALL AMERICANS. Instead the leadership decided to become a mere pawn in liberal media propaganda game. Obama and Eric Holder are taking a beating on the DOJ corruption charges with the New Black Panthers. NAACP was simply used as a cats paw to grab some media attention away from the Panthers and join big media in smearing the Tea Party-who goes to great lengths not to be or act racist and isn’t even about race -but lower taxes and smaller government.  They also engendered sadness and betrayal in the hearts of all the those conservative and successful African Americans who have struggled and led by personal example not by political deals.

The NAACP has now sunk to an organization that is a pawn of political hacks. It’s too bad-they could have been leaders to all of us-instead of part of the problem. What NAACP members need is a new NAACP Tea Party to take back their organization to focus on jobs, education and yes-the eradication of racism in our society.
