Christopher Roupe, 17, Shot By Cop Who Mistook Wii Controller For Gun

A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed by a police officer when the boy came to the door holding a Wii controller, which the officer mistook for a gun.

Euharlee, Ga. police officers showed up at Christopher Roupe’s home in the Eagle View Mobile Home Park on Friday night to serve his father a warrant for violating his probation, WSBTV reports. Roupe, who was about to watch a movie, answered the door holding the video game remote control.

The female officer shot Roupe point-blank in the chest, allegedly mistaking the controller for a gun.
