Mexican freedom fighters still going strong according to reports.
APATZINGAN, Mexico (AP) — Although it has been reported that Mexican soldiers have killed Mexican militia members, Mexican citizens do not seem deterred in their fight to free themselves from the terrorist drug cartel groups. According to The Blaze, AP reports by Dave Urbanski indicate
Vigilantes who have driven a quasi-religious drug cartel from a series of towns in western Mexico entered a gang-held city on Saturday and were working with government forces to clear it of cartel gunmen, a leader of the movement said.
The reports of Mexican soldiers killing militia members may be false. Recent reports indicate that it was probably the Knights Templar members who shot and killed several unarmed freedom fighters in October when police told them they could not carry weapons. Today it appears that they may carry weapons. According to the report, self-defense group leader Hipolito Mora told AP by phone:
Federal forces are working with self-defense groups. Guys from the self-defense groups are moving around the city, cooperating in certain ways with the federal government. Many, many people have been detained.
The grip of the Knights Templar cartel was once so complete that they drove around in vehicles with their red cross and organized demonstrations to intimidate federal police into leaving Apatzingan. Any attack by an outside group was once thought impossible.
Today the symbol is a white T-shirt to identify the freedom fighters.
