Jefferson County Circuit Court Candidate Signs the Walker Recall

JEFFERSON – A second candidate for a circuit court judgeship in Wisconsin has signed a recall petition against Governor Scott Walker.

JoAnn Miller of Jefferson, who is challenging former Jefferson County District Attorney David Wambach for an open seat on the court, signed the recall petition against Governor Walker on December 7, 2011 according to records listed on PutWisconsinFirst.com.    She used the address of 1157 Hillebrand Drive in Jefferson, which exactly matches the address listed on candidate registration records provided by the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board.

The Jefferson Municipal Judge becomes the second judicial candidate in the 2014 spring elections to sign a recall petition against Governor Walker.  The other judicial candidate to sign a recall petition is Laura Gramling Perez in Milwaukee County.  Gramling-Perez admitted to signing the recall during a Republican branch caucus in Cudahy.

David Wambach, who is Miller’s opponent, was an appointed to the Jefferson County Circuit Court in June of 2013 by Governor Scott Walker to fill a vacancy due to the retirement of Judge Jacqueline Erwin.  Before becoming a judge, Wambach was noted as an expert cold-case prosecutor.

Miller currently serves as the municipal judge of the Jefferson Municipal Court.  Other than serving as a municipal judge, she currently owns her own law firm dealing with divorce litigation.  She is graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Marquette Law School.

Wisconsin Election Watch contacted Judge Miller for comment.  She said: “I am a firm believer in letting people having a say…It was out of frustration.”
