When Hillary Clinton’s human suit malfunctions

Hillary Clinton on Friday claimed she “may have short-circuited” when discussing FBI Director James Comey’s statements on whether she lied about her emails. If that’s the case, here are several other reasons she may want to check her wiring.

Clinton made the remark after being asked at the National Association of Black Journalists-National Association of Hispanic Journalists Convention whether she felt she had misrepresented Comey’s conclusion of her email investigation.

Remember, the FBI director noted that there were more than 100 emails containing classified information on Clinton’s server.

From his statement:

From the group of 30,000 e-mails returned to the State Department, 110 e-mails in 52 e-mail chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received. Eight of those chains contained information that was Top Secret at the time they were sent; 36 chains contained Secret information at the time; and eight contained Confidential information, which is the lowest level of classification. Separate from those, about 2,000 additional e-mails were ‘up-classified’ to make them Confidential; the information in those had not been classified at the time the e-mails were sent.

She’d claimed there were none.

Even after Comey’s damning statement, Clinton told Fox News: “Director Comey said my answers were truthful and consistent.”

Just about everyone paying attention called her out for the line—so now Clinton is changing her tune.

“I may have short-circuited it, and for that I will try to clarify,” Clinton said.

Which means one of two things: Clinton is a chronic liar. Or she actually is as confused as she says she is.

A third possibility, given the epic weirdness we’ve already witnessed in 2016, is that Clinton actually is a robot in a human suit and she actually did just short circuit for a brief moment.

Were it actually possible and true, it would almost be comforting.
