What is the greatest (most evil) tax?

Here at TPOL, we’ve long believed and taught that the income tax is the greatest of evil taxes. We believe this for many reasons. Not only is it a form of fractional slavery. It is in many ways the easiest to scale up constantly (progressive – tax brackets, right?) and easiest for politicians to lie about (“soak the rich!). So of course, it penalizes success. But at the same time, it is easily tinkered with to push political agendas and at the same time, show that governments (unlike the Lord) are “respecters of persons” – the influential can skate and place the burden on others.

It is a key part of the platform of the Communist Parties of the world in the past, and of modern Tranzi movements (transnational socialist/progressive/regressive). Because it is so easy to tinker with and “fine-tune” it is also a massive paperwork headache for the slaves that pay it. And of course, it features all the goodness and kindness and affability of the Internal Revenue Service and the good company of the Revenuers!

But we of course, being free-market anarchists here at TPOL do not think anything good of any taxation scheme or method. Sales and use taxes may be preferable to income taxes, but no more moral and no more desirable. Now we come to what many consider as evil as the income tax. That is, of course, the property tax. We are pleased to share these images and thoughts from a correspondent, Bob. We find both his humor and his points great.

My vote for the biggest scam of them all: Property taxes.

The government tells you that we have a “right” to own property.

• You buy the land.
  You pay off the mortgage.
  You hold the deed.
• Congratulations. You own it!

Just stop paying the government its annual fee and see who really owns it.

Bob continues his diatribe, going beyond the property tax.

The DSA portion of the democrat party believes in redistributing wealth, which is a charming way of saying they’ve already made plans for your money and land.

Beyond the usual property taxes, sales taxes, real estate taxes, federal income taxes, state taxes, school taxes, local bonds, social Security tax, Medicare tax, gasoline taxes, vehicle registration/taxes, excise taxes, utility taxes, telecommunications taxes, hotel and restaurant taxes, capital-gains taxes, dividend taxes, estate/inheritance taxes in some circumstances, unemployment/payroll taxes, assorted licenses, fees and assessments… and… Did I miss any?

We earn the money. They tax it. We spend the money. They tax it. We invest the money. They tax it. We own a home. They tax it. And after we finally pay off the land, we keep paying the government every year for permission to keep it.

The DSA calls whatever you have left unfinished business.

But we point out to Bob and every reader, it is not just the DSA. Every old political party and virtually every politician and senior government official consider everyone as “unfinished business” – sheep to be sheered as needed (and wanted); an unending source of wealth to enrich them and let them fulfill their fondest dreams of vainglory and monument building. Getting right down to it, the mainstream of the Democrats, the blue dog Democrats, the RINOs and the rest of the GOP are parasites. Their constant scams are all done with money stolen from taxpayers, past, present, and (they assume and plan) future.

The property tax is perfect for this effort, of course. Property taxes are used to fund government-run, tax-funded “public” schools, of course. Although federal funding (income tax and borrowed money) and state funding (usually also income taxes and sales taxes) now pay larger amounts of the vast sums of money wasted by the GRTF schools in “educating” children, the system is built on property taxes. This method dates from the mid-1800s. But much of local municipal, township, and county spending uses property taxes. And in some States, the property tax is the source of last resort, if sales taxes and income taxes are not enough, and the State is banned constitutionally from borrowing money.

Property taxes offer many advantages to governments. They require a large and highly-trained permanent bureaucracy to manage – a boon for the Deep State at many levels. Establishing the value of property and the tax rates is also complex with many opportunities for political dickering and deal making. And therefore, for special treatment (both good and bad from the point of the taxpayer).

And it is especially a great vehicle for government to seize land, benefit its partners in crime, and keep government prosperous even in times of severe economic distress, even collapse. You fail to pay taxes, they flog it off and you don’t have it any more. Government steals it from you. Outright.

As Bob points out, this plays right into the hands of the Woke and the various flavors of socialists (“progressives”) that harass us and seek more and more power. And it is, ultimately, a violation of the US Constitution. A subject few people are willing to discuss, but it seems to us here at TPOL that the second phrase of the Fifth Amendment is pretty straightforward. Money (and land and structures) is property.
