Are Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian headed for divorce?

Nothing is confirmed as of yet, but that’s what sources tell Hollywood Life. According to these sources, Lamar Odom was spotted leaving the offices of a divorce attorney.

Is a divorce looming? Not so fast, as sources close to the Kardashian clan are telling Hollywood Life that these rumors are untrue and that the couple “couldn’t be happier.”

From what Hollywood Life has been told by a source close to Lamar Odom, the basketball player wants to protect his assets, with the idea that the Kardashians will come after his money if he divorces Khloe.

Lamar Odom reportedly has a net worth of $67 million. That’s a lot of loose change for the Kardashians to get their hands on.

Let’s assume, just for argument’s sake, that the couple is headed for divorce. (Of course, we beg readers to remember that this report has been denied vehemently by Khloe Kardashian.) His meeting with a divorce lawyer could very well have been a preliminary step to juggle his finances.

At the early stage of any divorce talks, it’s wise for everyone to manage finances and to look at any potentially disabling contracts.

For example, if Odom and Kardashian signed a prenuptial agreement, now would be the time to start working with a divorce lawyer to go over the details.

The misconception about prenuptial agreements is that any prenup protects you. That’s just not true. Not all prenups are iron-clad and in a state such as California, or similarly, Texas, you run into issues of community property.

If a prenuptial agreement hasn’t effectively disclaimed community property, then there could be problems. And that’s just one problem with a prenup.

Another problem could be how the prenup was entered into. If the prenup was signed too close to the marriage, for example, there could be a greater presumption of invalidity. Also, if the other party didn’t have independent counsel, there could be issues.

It’s unclear whether the K-Dash divorce rumors are true. The Kardashian clan denies it.
