Texas High School Student In Coma After Being Tased On Campus

All across the country, cops are shooting first and asking questions later.

17-year-old Noe de Rivera, a student at Cedar Creek High School, is now in a coma as a result of maliciously being tased by a Texas Sheriff’s deputy.

According to Adam Loewy, a lawyer representing Rivera’s family, “There were two young ladies fighting and he (Noe) stepped in to break up the fight.”  He went on to explain, “What the evidence shows, he (Noe) was sort of backing up from the fight, the fight was over, and this officer literally walked up on him and tased him.”

When the sheriff tased Noe, for absolutely no reason, Noe fell and hit his head in what has been described by Loewy “as one of the worst traumatic brain injuries we have seen.”

Instead of asking questions or checking to make sure everyone was okay, the officer chose to be the judge, jury and almost, the executioner.

“There was a crowd watching and the kid was just trying to get the officers to listen to him,” said one student. “When he shot the Taser, there was a crowd, and others could have been hit.”

For Rivera, doing a good deed, has seem to have had life-threatening consequences due to the officer’s intervention.

In response to this horrific display of police brutality, Noe’s classmates staged a walkout of the school.  Dressed in all white, the students chanted: “Justice for Noe.”  They were also joined by several concerned parents.

According to a local news outlet KXAN: “School resource officers in Pflugerville, Round Rock, and Del Valle all have Tasers, but have never had to use them on a student either. Some officers have resorted to using less painful methods like pepper spray. Commander Jim Stewart with the Round Rock Police Department said each situation is different, and the factors they take into consideration include the size of the student and whether or not they are armed.”

The Family’s lawyer, Loewy said, “In the interim, we ask for prayers for this young man and his family.”

There is no word on an investigation in to this obvious abuse of power.
