Snowden Gave U.S. Justice Its Proper Due

With establishment politicians all making their case to the public that Edward Snowden should return to America to stand trial, given the events over the last 20 years, it is clear that there is little justice to be had in US courts. 

After the Waco seige over two decades ago, the Waco complex survivors, who were too afraid to come out after the ATF conducted a military assault on a church that killed people in a cold-blood fashion while incinerating children, were allowed show trials.  The name given to this ATF slaughter of women and children was “Operation Showtime” and was conducted at a time when the ATF was seeking a high profile incident to garner increased budgeting during congressional hearings.

The survivors, many who were old women and younger ladies and who had never picked up a gun, were all charged with the murder of federal agents.  The FBI then managed to lose all copies of the initial assault which would have shown the slaughter initiated by the ATF.

The government then barred all the survivors’ attorneys from arguing self-defense when they charged innocent women with “Murder of Federal Agents” and “The Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony”.

When the entire list of defendants were able to tell what happened, not a single person was found guilty of murder.  Yet, a jury of ignorant Texas hicks decided to side with government and found all the defendants guilty of “The Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony”.  The issue of how there could be a felony perpetrated when the all defendants were found innocent of the only felony with which they were charged, that being the murder of federal agents, was called into question.  How could you use firearms in the commission of a felony, that being the murder of federal agents, when a jury had decided you did not murder any federal agents? 

The judge told the defendants, “Our laws do not have to make sense.”  What he should have said and what would have been more to the point was, “Our courts do not have to be just or provide justice.”  After finding numerous devout Christian women guilty of “The Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony” who had in fact never touched a gun, the judge then sentenced each one of these victims to 25-year sentences.  The jury was later shocked to find that the government would use their verdict for such a vicious and abusive sentence.

During Operation Iraqi Freedom after the US institutionalized torture, it shielded those who authorized, ordered and supervised torture that led to dozens of Iraqi murders, yet then prosecuted lowly Private Lindie England while refusing to allow her to subpoena those who ordered and committed torture that led to deaths.  It then sentenced her to years in jail for actually having never harmed anyone herself. This is U.S. justice.

Glenn Greenwald wrote a very revealing book called “With Liberty and Justice for Some – How the Law is Used to Destroy Equality and Protect the Powerful”.  In it he explains all the ways average Americans are placed under the boot of the state for minor infractions while the kleptocracy and plutocracy are allowed to engage in fraud, theft and conspiracy enforced through police state brutality by a court system that has become little different than what the French people suffered under during the time of Marie Antoinette.

The problem is not only that the government denies equality as it relates to law between the rich and poor, but that it also denies justice to those who foolishly believe our government can any more be bound by laws and a constitution.  Rights are of little use when the police, as they almost always do, lie and commit perjury because the courts always simply refuse to prosecute any partisan of the state by enforcing perjury laws.  What justice do you think a criminal government will provide to protect the innocent dissident or the whistleblower against its depredations? 

As part of Operation PATCON, the FBI tortured and murdered the wrong guy in the case of Kenneth Trentadue and was then allowed to destroy all the evidence to hide its crimes.  The cover-up goes all the way to Eric Holder.  It has been well-documented that as part of FBI Operation PATCON, the FBI mistook Kenneth Trentadue for Richard Lee Guthrie as they had the same hair and eye color, same height and weight, had the same tattoo and drove the same truck.  When Guthrie was caught he was later suicided while in federal custody.  Whiel being mistaken for Guthrie, Kenneth Trentadue was tortured and beat to death as they thought he was one of the OKC bombing conspirators.  This was why they tried to stop the investigation and limit it to McVeigh and Nichols as they did not want to call attention to the Trentadue incident.  After torturing and murdering Kenneth Trentadue, they destroyed logs and whitewashed the cell.  The FBI then tried to have the body immediately cremated by claiming he was a biohazard with AIDS.  It was only because Kenneth’s brother, Jesse Terentadue, was a law professor and attorney that the FBI did not fully succeed in their cover-up.  When the family got the body back even the bottom of the feet were bruised and beaten and the body was pumped full of drugs used for torture.  The FBI then threatened coroners, destroyed documents, hid evidence, obstructed justice and committed torture and murder.  This is the U.S. justice to which establishment stooges want Snowden to subject himself.  The media was self-censoring and simply refused to cover the story.  

The police have been waging a war against the American people and their liberty by brutalizing and murdering them while the corporate media has become complicit in the cover up while serving as apologists for the police state. Such was the case of Iraq War veteran and retired Marine Derek Hale who was slaughtered in front of scores of people because he could not more his hands from his pocket after being tazed three times and laying in his vomit.  When he stood up he was shot in the chest three times.  His only crime was that he signed up to go on a Toys-for-Tots motorcycle run with some bikers.  Again the media played a willing part in covering up an atrocity.

The one major story the US media refuses to cover is the increasing levels of perjury, malicious prosecution and brutality being engaged in by the US government against the American people and the goofy justifications used by police and accepted by courts for such heinous actions.  While the government closed down a the city of Boston to find one alleged bomber of the Boston Marathon and enacts total surveillance of all its citizens for over a decade to stop terrorist plots for which most were FBI entrapments in which the FBI recruited, radicalized, trained and then supplied a hapless and sorry soul, the truth is that the NSA total surveillance program has never stopped a single terrorist act or saved a single life and while it claims to need such extreme measures, meanwhile innocent Americans are brutalized and killed across the country by the hundreds while our government refuses to enforce laws that are specifically on the books to protect Americans from police who have become tyrannical goons for the state. The government has created crime where none exists while elected politicians ignore crimes against the American people by the police state.

People whom once thought they could engage in peaceful protest in movements such as Occupy Wall Street found they would be gassed, brutalized and have their dissent crushed by police.  The freedom of speech people believed they had has been destroyed by police who lie on police reports claiming innocent people were using profanity and threatening them.  After beating these poor souls to a pulp these citizens are then charged with Resisting Arrest and Battery on Law Enforcement and forced to take a plea agreement or face ruinous legal bills with court cases that drag on for years and often result in Americans being imprisoned for the better part of a decade for no crime except exercising the rights they were once told they had. 

The fact is there is no more justice in America.  If there were justice in America the criminal acts committed by government and its partisans would not have become routine and commonplace.  One need only go to YouTube and type in “police brutality” to see the brutality that has become pandemic.  To add insult to injury, the government has now established precedent so that Americans have no right to resist or even flee illegal arrest.  To see what happens to  people who resist an illegal police search by fleeing, Google “Kelly Thomas”.  This 140 lb. man was beat brain dead and was literally suffocated my the medieval torture of pressing as his head was pounded with a hammer-like four-pound tazer and then had his ribs crushed by six assailants until he was suffocated and left brain dead.  His assailants were all found innocent.  Kelly Thomas’s only crime was that he would not allow police to illegally search his belongings and so ran. It ended up being that Kelly Thomas had had done nothing wrong nor had anything illegal.  The irony of this case was that as Kelly Thomas was being killed he called out in vain for his father who was also a “law enforcement officer”.

After brutally beating someone and falsely charging them with crimes, even when caught on tape and having the criminal act placed on Youtube, the police are allowed to escape both criminal and civil liability.  The American people are on the verge of revolt and it is because the police have no loyalty to the constitution or interest in protecting peoples’ rights.  The police have become a militarized arm of the government and are blanketed in immunity to carry out whatever abuse they are tasked to inflict or driven by their ego to perpetrate.  As Blackwater and the military were allowed to purposely slaughter 2-year-old children and 70-year-old grandmothers, and in some cased allowed to dig their bullets out of the victims to hide their crimes, government law enforcement agents are now allowed to slaughter Americans with the same impunity.

When criminals inside the government and its partisans outside of it are prosecuted for their illegal invasions, lying to congress, torture, murder, insider trading (which is legal for members of our legislature), fraud, war crimes and crimes against humanity, then I will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with these gatekeepers of the status quo and demand Edward Snowden turn himself in to stand trial in a trial by country as opposed to a trial by government.  Until then we all know what type of justice Edward Snowden would receive for pointing out the treason that criminals in government have commited against the American people.

Probably the greatest work to explain what an oxymoron our criminal justice system has become is an essay written by Lysander Spooner in his renown work called “Trial By Jury” available for free on the internet.  It is relatively short and yet strikes at the heart of what has become a corrupt US justice system. It ought to be required reading for every high school student in America.  Our government now dictates to juries and decides what arguments and evidence the jury may hear and in doing so have made the words of Lysander Spooner prescient when he said:

“So, also, if the government may dictate to the jury what laws they are to enforce, it is no longer a trial by the country,” but a trial by the government; because the jury then try the accused, not by any standard of their own — by their own judgments of their rightful liberties — but by a standard dictated to them by the government. And the standard, thus dictated by the government, becomes the measure of the people’s liberties. If the government dictate the standard of trial, it of course dictates the results of the trial. And such a trial is no trial by the country, but only a trial by the government; and in it the government determines what are its own powers over the people, instead of the people’s determining what are their own liberties against the government. In short, if the jury have no right to judge of the justice of a law of the government, they plainly can do nothing to protect the people, against the oppressions of the government; for there are no oppressions which the government may not authorize by law.”   

Does anyone else find it ironic that the reason the US government is so mad at Snowden is that he violated its privacy?  Yet, the government wants to violate every single American’s privacy and the U.S. Constitution while seeking to imprison those who expose its crimes and treasons against the American people who are lied into wars by profiteers.  If an American hid the fact that a drug dealer broke the law and they were complicit in this actions, they would be charged with criminal conspiracy, being and accesssory, obstruction of justice and given a life sentence.  Yet, the government tells us it can do whatever it wants, take whatever it wants, lies to those it is supposed to serve and commits whatever crime it likes against the people and the U.S. Constitution.  Such a government is an absolute, tyrannical and criminal government.

There can me no doubt that Edward Snowden, Bradley Manning and Julian Assange did the people of the world a great deed.  It seems the criminals in government get to break whatever law is written while people who expose officials’ crimes are persecuted and tormented.  Americans will have justice when they make a simple decision to end the Republican and Democratic stranglehold on the government. There are libertarian candidates who promise prosecution for criminals in government. When the American people are finally willing to vote as libertarians we will then see the end to the criminal rackets our government runs. As Goethe said, “There are no people more hopeless enslaved then those who falsely believe they are free.”
