Lamar Odom’s Partying: An Inside Look

Chances are you heard about Lamar Odom’s recent brothel incident in which he was found unconscious and placed on medical support in the hospital. While he has recovered and is claiming that this scare was enough to change his ways, his hardcore partying lifestyle and his past actions may be harder for him to give up. Take a look back at some of the incidents that Odom’s drug use has caused throughout his life.

Early Interaction

From the beginning, Odom had a rough life. His mother died from cancer at the age of 12, and his father was addicted to heroin. This caused a rough upbringing for Lamar, who luckily was taken out of the situation when drafted to the NBA in 1999.

Breaking NBA Drug Policy

In March 2001, Lamar Odom failed a drug test and broke the NBA’s drug policy. Because of this, he was suspended for five games. He didn’t learn, and in November 2002, he was once again suspended for breaking the NBA’s drug policy. He later came out and admitted to using marijuana.

On Track

Lamar met Khloe Kardashian and the two wed after only one month of dating. They seemed to be in love, and during the early part of their relationship, Odom seemed to have his life on track. However, the short-lived romance would soon take a horrible turn.

Summer Partying

In the summer of 2013, Lamar and Khloe’s relationship was on the rocks, and they were on the verge of divorce. Rumors spread that Khloe gave Lamar an ultimatum to go to rehab or to move out, but it was determined that Lamar had moved out of their home in May of 2013. During the summer separation, it was determined that Lamar was spending about $800 every day on his drug use. Not only did his addiction spiral out of control, but it also had an impact on his health. In the fall of 2013, Lamar experienced many bouts of paranoia, regularly accusing his bodyguards of spying on him and going into questionable rants.

DUI

In August 2013, Lamar Odom was arrested for a DUI. While in police custody, he refused to take a drug test, which automatically results in a one-year driver’s license suspension. He was bailed out for $15,000. According to Bartis Law, “A DUI is a serious offense that has serious consequences, and it’s smart to have an attorney present to handle all the legal necessities.”

Failed Professional Help

In September 2013, Lamar Odom checked into a rehab facility in order to receive the professional help he needed. However, he checked out after only one day. He hired an attorney who claimed that Odom was receiving professional help for his addictions, but that he was seeking this professional help outside of a rehab facility.

Rapping

In November 2013, Lamar was recorded on camera rapping into a cell phone about his drug use as well as admitting to cheating on Khloe. This seemed to be the last straw, as Khloe officially filed for divorce in December 2013.

Brothel

Lamar Odom seemed to stay out of the headlines for a while, but in October 2015, he was found unconscious in the Love Ranch. He allegedly took a variety of drugs and drank alcohol, and was seen arguing and throwing things before passing out face down.

As of now, rumors are that Lamar wants to change his life, and Khloe has been by his side. Only time will tell if he can beat his demons.
