Get to Safety

Call for Help

Communicating with the other parties involved in the accident is key to resolving things neatly. Now is not the time to make accusations or assign blame. Simply be courteous and friendly, and approach the other party to exchange insurance information.
If they are unwilling to give you their information or start getting belligerent, either back off while taking note (or pictures, if possible) of their license plate or seek assistance from a nearby police officer.
Document Evidence
As alluded to above, documenting evidence of a truck accident in its immediate aftermath is a small step that can yield hugely beneficial results later. If you have a phone with a decent camera, taking pictures of the entire site, with a special focus on the damage done to your vehicle and any other valuable property you may have been transporting. If you’ve been hurt and are capable, take pictures of your injuries as well, or ask someone to do it for you.
