Disney Cruise Line’s ship – “The Magic”, has transported thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of holiday seekers all over the world, and she is getting her very own makeover! The company have announced that they are incorporating a new children’s area and are installing a three storey water-slide!
The ship had originally launched in 1998 and has been happily sailing the seven seas ever since, the ship has encountered a number of alterations in her time, including décor, motifs, cabins and more.
This time the ship will be dry docked and the upgrade will commence, the waterslide, possibly, the star attraction of the ocean liner has been named the “Aqua Dunk”, this thrilling water-slide is to scale three floors within the ship, and send its passengers to a whopping near vertical drop through 20ft of transparent tubing! There is also something a little more tailored for the children, they have included a little splash zone where the toddlers are catered for and entertained by the lovable, Huey, Dewey and Louie!
The Magic’s new Marvel’s Avengers Academy will use characters from the Marvel brand, which Disney acquired in 2009. It will feature games, programming, and equipment consisting of reproductions of props from superhero films. It’s designed to appeal to both boys and girls, inspiring them to become superhero “recruits” for missions from the academy.
It is not only the kids that are in for a surprise, as part of the revamp the adults will be catered for with the updating of amenities such as cabins, pubs, bars and lounges. The cabin beds are to be raised; therefore adding extra valuable storage space for all of your outfits and luggage. Included will be a piano lounge for the more refined and formal evenings, and a new Irish themed sports bar and pub! The Caribbean themed restaurant will be replaced by a more modern Brazilian themed restaurant and possibly one of the most exciting aspects is the revamp is the famous Disney animation eatery!
