Hello RSS reader!

Hello there. You’re getting this RSS exclusive post because you’re one of the lovely people who subscribes to our feed in one way or another (or you’ve clicked here from a link and are a bit confused).

Anyway, assuming you’re in the subscribes-to-the-site category, I wanted to give you a quick update about your options, as Google are shutting down Google Reader, which, it is possible, is how you are viewing this post.

This doesn’t apply to you if you are reading this post as an e-mail subscriber, or via any interface other than Google Reader. You are safe, and can now continue about your day as if nothing had happened. Here’s a picture to say thanks for your time.

If you are using Google Reader, then I have bad news. Google are turning the taps off on Google Reader on the 1st of July. That’s TOMORROW! Or, if you’re reading this late, THAT’S TODAY. OR YESTERDAY!

I know, right?

The good news is that there are loads of options to replace Google Reader, with my current favourite being feedly. It looks almost exactly the same as Google Reader’s web interface (if, perhaps a little more minimalist), and you can find us in feedly right here. Another popular service is bloglovin’, and we’re in that here.

If feedly doesn’t work for you, then I wrote a nice big post for tech site Too Many Adapters, all about some other options you have for surviving the Google Readerpocalypse, which includes ways to get your subscriptions out of Google Reader and into somewhere else.

To be really sure of not missing our posts, the best option is probably to subscribe by e-mail – that way you’ll get every post in your inbox, and we’ll give you a special badge. Ok, so that last part isn’t entirely true.
