Win €200 of accommodation with HostelBookers

The thing about a blog is that I do tend to go on a bit about the stuff I do. Hey you guys, I just went to Thailand! Hey you guys, I just stayed in this awesome hostel that was a plane once! Hey you guys, I just… well, I’m sure you get the idea.

I know this is the point of a travel blog (I blog… about travel!), and we sure do our best to entertain and educate as we go (perhaps not so much of the latter…), but wouldn’t it be nice if as well as us telling you about all this funky stuff we do, we got to sort you out with some funky stuff as well?

Tell me more, I hear you say (the clue is in the title, but you know how I like to waffle).

Well, to celebrate our recent milestone of three years of blogging (cue champagne etc…), I figured that the best way to celebrate would be to give some stuff away, because the reality is that without readers this blog would be less of a blog, and more of an empty corridor of darkness. And no-one wants that.

Anyway, this month I’m planning on running a number of giveaways (“A number!”, you cry! “The excitement!”), starting off with this particularly wonderful giveaway in partnership with HostelBookers. 

As regular readers will know (you are a regular reader, right? I mean, no offence, but that’s who this post is aimed at… feel free to quickly skim through three years of archives while I nonchalantly peer into the distance), we’ve had a lot of fun with HostelBookers over the last year or so. They helped us out around Thailand, setting us up in Yoga retreats and far flung resorts, and then hosted us all around Europe. Very awesome of them, I’m sure you’ll agree.

We’ve learnt a lot about HostelBookers. We’ve learnt that their name is a little misleading – they offer far more than just Hostels. We learnt that their site is very easy to use, and they have properties all over the world, including some that are awesome for festivals, and some that are a hit with female travellers. And. most importantly perhaps, we learnt that they want you to experience how awesome they are, too.

Which brings me (finally!) to the point of this post. As part of that three year milestone (keep glugging that champagne, it helps, I promise), we’re delighted to announce that HostelBookers have partnered up with us to offer you guys two nights of accommodation with them for two people, worth up to €200 and valid for any property on the HostelBookers website. And how do you enter this fantastic competition, you ask? Simple – use the form below to enter! As soon as you login with facebook or your e-mail (which we won’t use for anything other than to contact you if you win!), that’s one entry. Then you can do more tasks to earn yourself more entries, from tweeting the post to signing up to our newsletter. Which is launching soon I promise.

The competition will run from Monday 3rd June through to Friday 14th June, and the winner will be announced in the following week! Too easy, right?

The inevitable terms and conditions:

1. This Competition is open to participants aged 18 and over.
2. This Competition is not open to employees of HostelBookers, their family members, HostelBookers’ agents, or anyone professionally connected with the competition, including employees of Finding the Universe. 
3. Participants enter the competition by submitting an entry using the PunchTab form on Finding the Universe.
4. No responsibility is taken for entries which are lost, delayed or misdirected, or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason.
5. The competition will run from 9am (GMT) Thursday 6th June and will close at 9pm (GMT) Thursday  20th June.
6. The prize is a two night stay for two people at any property on the HostelBookers website, up to the value of EUR 200. All accommodation stays are subject to availability and must be taken within one year of the winner being notified of the prize.
7. The prize must be taken by the prize winner and may not be transferred to or taken by any third party.
8. The winner will be selected randomly from the PunchTab system by Laurence and announced on this blogpost on Monday 24th July. 
9. The winner will be notified within 7 days of the prize draw by email.
10. If Laurence cannot contact the winner within fourteen days of the prize draw Laurence reserves the right to conduct another prize draw to determine a new winner.
11. HostelBookers act as agent in respect of all bookings we take or make on your behalf.
12. For all bookings your contract will be with the supplier of the accommodation or other service specified.
