Airports Spreading Holiday Cheer

When you are traveling during the holidays, you want to get into the holiday spirit. Even airports are trying to make things a little more festive for travelers trying to navigate their way through the terminals. These airports are trying to spread holiday cheer.

Munich Airport
This might be the most festive airport in the world. The airport is adorned with real pine trees and numerous decorations. This year they are hosting a holiday market through December 26th, that features 44 booths and plenty of items to purchase like gingerbread and bratwurst. If shopping is not your thing, you can take a spin around the ice rink. There are children’s activities, live music and magic shows.

Zurich Airport
Just visiting this airport really can make travelers get into the holiday spirit.  There are human-sized snowmen, plus plenty of lights decorating the airport. Holiday music can also be heard throughout. Zurich Airport will be catering to those last minute shoppers as well. There are plenty of shops for them to find a present or two, plus a wrapping station. For parents who are trying to get some shopping done but have little ones in tow, there is the supervised, Children’s Paradise area. Parents can leave their children here, free of charge, while they visit some of the airport’s boutiques.

Singapore’s Changi Airport
Now through the middle of February, travelers can experience the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. On display, there’s Hogwarts School Whomping Willow, Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade Village, Hogwarts Express and Newt Scamander’s Menagerie. There are daily light shows, as well as snow that falls. Travelers can ride on a broomstick to play a game of Quidditch or try to get the most points by throwing Quaffle balls.

London Heathrow
At this airport, they have really focused on spreading cheer amongst even the youngest of travelers. Santa will be making an appearance each day, through December 24 at London Heathrow. In some of the departure lounges there are carolers on hand belting out a few holiday tunes. Just before the check-in areas, Salvation Army bands will also be playing. Kids can take part in free craft workshops that include everything from paper mache to cookie decorating. At some of the airport’s restaurants, kids will get to eat free during the holiday season.
