% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Even if you aren’t from Ireland, there are lucky things to do on St. Patrick’s Day. And no, you don’t have to go search for a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow! There is a whole list of St. Patrick’s Day Superstitions you might want to read up on. Also, find out the history of Beer and St. Patrick’s Day. How is St. Patrick’s Day Celebrated Around the World? If you’re looking for ways to celebrate and attract good fortune on March 17, here are some lucky things you can do on St. Patrick’s Day. Let’s discuss some interesting traditions.

Bring Along A Cinnamon Stick

While not a common tradition in America, this is actually well-known in Ireland. In Ireland, it’s common to place a cinnamon stick in your wallet to bring prosperity. Even though it might seem weird, if it doesn’t work, at least it will make your wallet smell good.

Finding A Four-Leaf Clover

Another tradition involves finding a four-leaf clover, which is said to bring good luck. The shamrock represents the Trinity, as St. Patrick used it to explain Christianity. Finding a four-leaf clover is supposed to bring good luck. It might be more challenging to find one than you think, as your chances of finding one are about 1 in 10,000. Nevertheless, there are Good Luck Charms from Around the World.

Burning Sage

If you’re looking for a more spiritual approach, burning sage is believed to ward off evil spirits and eliminate negative energy. However, for best results, you can burn the plant in a process called smudging. Doing so will eliminate negative energy and cleanse your space, so you start the day with positive vibes.

Wear Green

Of course, wearing green is one of the most well-known and popular traditions on St. Patrick’s Day. This tradition started as many thought wearing green would make them invisible to mischievous leprechauns who might pinch them. Those who didn’t wear green would supposedly get pinched by these mythical creatures. People would pinch individuals who didn’t wear green to remind them that a leprechaun would pinch them if they didn’t put on some form of green attire. Interestingly enough, the national color of Ireland is blue, so many Irish wear blue on St. Patrick’s Day.

Putting Up A Horseshoe

Another way to bring good luck into your home this St. Patrick’s Day is to hang a horseshoe. There are differing opinions on whether you should hang them upside down or right side up. Some believe you should point the ends up to make it easier to collect good luck. Others believe that the horseshoe should be face down so that those who pass it will have good luck poured upon them. Whichever way you choose, it’s a fun way to add a little luck to your decor.

Take a Shot with a Shamrock

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try the tradition of “drowning the shamrock.” This involves tossing a shamrock into a glass of whiskey, drinking the shot (not the shamrock!), and then tossing the shamrock over your left shoulder for luck. Just make sure to eat something afterward, and check out some traditional St. Patrick’s Day Traditional Dishes with Recipes.

Kiss Someone Who is Irish

“Kiss me, I’m Irish” can be found on many t-shirts, but where did this tradition come from? Some say it started with the Blarney Stone, so if you couldn’t make it to Ireland, kissing someone Irish was the next best thing. Read more about Landmarks That Bring Good Luck, Love, Travel & More

For those looking for a bit of romance, the phrase “Kiss me, I’m Irish” has become a popular St. Patrick’s Day tradition. Some say it started with the Blarney Stone, a famous Irish landmark that is said to give the gift of eloquence to those who kiss it. If you can’t make it to Ireland to kiss the stone yourself, kissing someone who is Irish is considered the next best thing.

Saying An Irish Blessing

If you don’t want to burn sage, wear green, hang a horseshoe, deal with cinnamon sticks in your wallet, or go on a four-leaf clover scavenger hunt, here is another option. You
