I would vote for a socialist in a heartbeat if it were a democratic socialist ( and not affiliated in any way with the american democrat party) if and only if he ( and it would have to be a “he”, I don’t vote for women) declared he would clamp the border shut and pour as much money into the INS as gets poured into the military, or that he would make the INS part of the military budget and declare war on invaders.
He would also have to declare to rehaul our insane welfare state and create a minimum wage that would make it so any grown man who works a 40 hour week or more for a living would be paid an amount of money that a man could live on, which would in itself cut down on our huge welfare costs.
One thing for certain, capitalism certainly has not worked well and has failed miserably.
Socialist countries have far better access to health care, most developed socialist countries have a much higher standard of living than US workers do.
Our economic system is more abused now than it was before the coal mine wars.
The plain fact is, half the work force works for wages that are too low for them to even give a fuck if they show up for work or not, you can’t expect people to work for 20 bucks an hour in a 40 buck an hour and be good employees who give a damn about performing their jobs well.
