The Australian media have been tying themselves in knots trying to explain how this year is already the worst flu season on record. Despite record numbers of people getting vaccinated against the very strain they are supposed to be protected from. The influenza A strain, with minor genetic modifications

Hundreds if not thousands have died and hundreds of thousands have been infected.

The 2017 Australian winter flu season looks to be the most severe for at least eight years. It has caused more than 400 deaths nationally and placed significant demands on under-funded public hospital and primary care health services. The peak numbers of flu cases also occurred earlier in winter than in previous years.

 Influenza A (H3N2) is the flu subtype that’s wreaking havoc.

It comes as an eighth elderly resident died at a regional Victorian nursing home following an outbreak of influenza A, which affected a further 123 residents and staff.

Most if not all of these residents were vaccinated against the influenza A virus.

The medical authorities immediately called for more vaccinations for visitors and workers in these care homes, viral shedding was not mentioned as even a remote possibility, or even infection from the Vaccine itself.

Australian Medial Association vice president Dr Tony Bartone told News Corp Australia the flu outbreak should serve as a wake-up call for Australians who are lax on getting vaccinated.

This means as many as 85 per cent of people who were vaccinated and then exposed to the virus still got infected.

“For whatever reason, the vaccine has been very ineffective this year.”

So, the official advice given to the public is get the safe and “effective” flu vaccine?

I suppose what else can you say when headlines like this are appearing in newspapers that just can’t afford to keep it out of the papers anymore. Even newspapers relics that they a re need to keep some credibility or become obsolete.

Mind you the fact she died of the flu isn’t the focus of the article, nor is it mentioned whether she was vaccinated or not. Statistically it appears to make very little difference.

But..hang on aren’t we vaccinating against influenza A and did no one even consider the possibility that with the reduction in one viral strain another one might take its place and be somehow much worse? 

So the next question has to be are they not only an epic fail but also corrupt
