We can win in the Senate

To be successful in stopping HR 5, the Inequality Act, it’s critical that we reach and inform more Americans about what is at stake. The only way to do that is to raise additional funds. I am asking you to consider making an emergency financial contribution to help us defeat HR 5 in the Senate.

There has never been a more pernicious, damaging attack on us and our values passed by the US House in American history. How bad is it? In a word, awful.
 
HR 5 makes demonstrating support for traditional marriage illegal as “sex discrimination” under federal law. It imposes a radical gender ideology that threatens the privacy and safety of girls and women. It allows biological men to compete against women in athletics, even though they have a huge physical advantage. And it strips Americans of their religious liberty rights to oppose the LGBT agenda.
 
There are three things that you can do right away to help us defeat this legislation:

1. Make an immediate financial contribution to NOM so that we can ramp up our campaign to derail this bill.

   We need our ads to reach not 1 million as they already have, but 100 million. We need our petition to be signed not by 10,000 people as it was, but by 100,000 or more. We need every Senator to know how bad this legislation truly is, and to hear from their constituents that they demand that it be defeated.

   Keep in mind that your donation will double thanks to the matching campaign that is underway. Please be as generous as possible.
    

2.  If you have not already done so, please sign our petition to the US Senate expressing your opposition to HR 5, the Inequality Act.

   When you sign the petition, key US Senators and their staffs will receive an email in your name informing them that you want them to oppose the bill. After you have signed, please forward it to all your friends, family and contacts and ask them to join you in opposing this legislation by signing the petition themselves.

We’ve got a huge fight on our hands. Already, one Republican Senator has announced support for this bill. We expect that some others may join her so as to avoid being labeled “anti-LGBT.” But if we all work together, and if we have the funding we need, I do believe that this bill can killed. It’s up to us, though. Please get involved immediately.
