Is Ocasio-Cortez for real?

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez vs Joe Crowley is portrayed like the classic David vs Goliath story. A brand new inexperienced candidate goes up against the Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus. A man who has not been opposed in a primary since Ocasio-Cortez was a 15 years old. Crowley was endorsed by the the NY Governor, the mayor of NYC, and both NY Senators. Despite being outspent several times over, she won by a large margin.

On the surface, Ocasio-Cortez is like something out of a Hollywood movie. Naive girly-girl runs for congress and wins by accident. Hilarity ensues. Watching her Instagram videos reminds me of movies like Clueless and Legally Blonde. She even promotes herself in this way. She claimed she re-activated an old Twitter account that had been dormant for six years and people just liked her tweets so much she turned her social media accounts into a congressional campaign.

Ocasio-Cortez publishes videos where she appears to have barely any knowledge of what congress even is. She seems to make a connection with her supporters in that they are learning how the US government works at the same time she is.
