And the GOP Senators who are retiring conveniently, shame on them for living in the lap of luxury for years and retreating when the American citizens need them most. Time for a border wall!
Now we see what President Trump is up against. He only has a handful of allies, and mainly in the Freedom Caucus. He has enemies everywhere who don’t want to see the American citizens succeed. If Mitch McConnell refuses to use the nuclear option or if there isn’t enough GOP Senators to garner the 51 vote majority, Americans won’t ever forgive them!
The president said that he would prefer to see this urgency at the U.S.-Mexico border addressed by the Democrats and Congress. Trump also restated his warning that if the Democrats were unable to agree, he would declare a national emergency.
“We have a country that is under siege,” Trump explained. “People don’t like the word invasion. We’re being invaded by criminals and drugs, and I want to stop it. I want the Democrats to come back Washington and to vote. Thank you very much, thank you, everybody. Thank you.”

So what is the real reason Trump wants this wall so badly? It’s to keep Americans in, not prevent illegal immigrants from entering the United States. But even if Trump is sincere that he doesn’t want illegals crossing the border, then you would think that he would stop that which is causing them to want to leave their country to enter the USA. Of course the wall will not stop drugs or genetic defects from coming here.
What it will do is inhibit their ability to use our weakest link, our southern border, to get in. It will no longer be our weakest link and our resources can concentrate on other areas that are a problem.
It will even up the odds a little so that we will be fighting a winnable war against invaders and their crime, drugs and diseases instead of fighting an unsuccessful exercise in futility like the un-winable shit the cheney administration got us mired in in Iraq and Afghanistan
Your logic doesn’t make sense, you say the wall is to hold us in but that drugs will be able to get in anyway.
Common sense would tell you that a way in is a way out.
Even if the conspiracy theories about the government and drugs are true ( which I doubt they are) we still should be defending our borders against invasion.
That is what governments do. As it is we are all victims of the invasion, drugs or not.
