Mamata Banerjee blames BJP, Center for orchestrating violence in Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused Bharatiya Janata Party and Delhi of engineering violence in the state to topple her government. Saffron however has dismissed the charge and observed a Black Day protesting murder of its party workers.

BJP meanwhile ruled out to be demanding President’s rule in the state despite lawless situation as Mamata Banerjee may then seek sympathy votes.

However, the party added to be defying the state’s ban on victory processions and other political programmes.

West Bengal governor Keshari Nath Tripathi met Monday Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi apprising the state situation.

Hitting back at the advisory of Union home ministry the CM said violence was a planted game. She also rubbished the media speculation about early assembly polls.

Mamata Banerjee added BJP party cadres and central government are instigating violence in the state, which cannot be turned into another Gujarat.

BJP meanwhile hit the streets on Monday in Kolkata and other towns observing Black Day in protest against murder of party workers.

Mamata Banerjee alleged BJP is trying to incite violence in the Jangalmahal and Darjeeling as a part of a conspiracy.

She advised the saffron not to play with fire.
