Just discussing it as a scientific curiosity, here — not selling any 99¢ store Swiss Army knives or tinfoil safety helmets, etc.

I don’t particularly understand why a reflection of light, on some inversion layer, lens flare, or sun dog, can’t have a heat signature, since shiny things get hot in the sun. The surface of the water, directly under a swimming pool cover, gets hotter than bath water, in my climate. Why can’t that happen to a layer of air.

Also, I guess, our planets would look like stars, due to the reflected light of our sun. So why must objects, orbiting a dark, brown dwarf, be so shiny.

Even allowing for our ideas of cosmology to be flexible and negotiable and open to new discoveries, how many Rosh Hoshanahs and Yom Kippurs should be allowed to pass, before the Rev 12 proponents should be locked in imaginary stocks, and rotten, cartoon tomatoes, thrown at them, hypothetically. This probably fits the analogy of yelling fire in the crowded theater, maybe? At what point do people, on either side of the discussion, take it out of the realm of the hypothetical, and when should they be expected to demonstrate their claim, beyond a shadow of a reasonable doubt. Ideologues seem to be operating within some conceptual gray area or black box process. It seem to cause fear, hesitancy, and identity crises, more than well grounded preparedness. Is that not an annoyance and a social problem.
