Unidentfied show #5 -- Rendlesham?

The History Channel‘s controversial Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation continues apace, the June 28th (2019) installment dipping into the 1980 Rendlesham event(s). because the site of that muddled affair contained nuclear weaponry, something the Luis Elizondo show was accenting.

George Knapp was front and center because he was a gatherer of FIOA documents, and Greg Bishop was interviewed because he’s delved into the Doty misinformation debacle, a misstep of the U.S. military/government: disinformation to throw off  “AF special agent” Richard Doty” who was closing in on some alleged, but hoaxed (by the U.S. Air Force), UFO activity.

The Doty story was used to highlight the possibility that Mr. Elizondo, as seen by critics, is, perhaps, being set up by the DoD and military in the same way as agent Doty, to unestablish Elizondo as a bona fide Pentagon insider with credible UFO information.

First off, Rendlesham has become a muddled mess, full of confabulations and imagined observations, umbrellaed by the original hysterical hallucinations of those involved: Lt. Colonel Halt, SSgt Penniston, and Airman Burroughs et al.

To bring in the Rendlesham and Doty messes, while peripherally relevant, takes the show back into murky waters that have little or nothing to so with the current “excitement” about Navy pilots spotting and encountering weird “entities” flying about the skies over the U.S. and other countries.

An opening sequence about a former sheriff (with friends) who saw a UFO-like thing fly over his head and shoot up in the sky, after employing an “afterburner-like” thrust. was interesting. This was imported into the show as the sighting took place within an area that housed nuclear military missiles.

It was reader Dominick, here, I think, who mentioned that the 2004 and 2015-2016 UFOs purportedly seen by Navy pilots mimic older sightings, in periods of time that eliminate the idea that the newly seen objects are advanced prototypes of aircraft of the U.S. or another world power.

No country had such aircraft back in the 1940s or 1950s surely and certainly not back in ancient or medieval times when such objects were reportedly witnessed.

So, pursuing the idea that we are awash in modern but mundane flying craft is a cop out, and hoping that we, the public and UFO buffs, will accept such an explanation for the Tic-Tac, Go Fast, and sphere-in-a-cube UFO as new,technically-advanced flying ships is a waste of our time and a side-track to the truth.

Yes, the show, for me, maintains my attention, but so does Ancient Aliens, which I eschew, hating almost every maniacally inclined participant. So take that as a caveat.
